Oak Hill Oaks 2009 Division IV B/B Champs !!!!!!! Sounds wonderful & boy you guys deserve it !!!! Congrats to Coachs for all their hard work & support... It sure is nice to see all the great support from the community as well. This game had me on the edge of my seat at the end but up on my feet at the final buzzer !!!! We're very proud of our team !!!!!

Kalida is in Putnam county in northwestern ohio. They won a title in 1981 when coach Kortakrax's son Randy who is now head coach of Columbus Bishop Hartley was playing and they've been to the state tournament 5 times I believe finishing 2nd one other time.

Like Space Cowboy, I'm another VC supporter, who was proud to watch the Oak's win a state championship. I think anyone who has watched the Oak's this year realizes this was far from their best performance, but they were still able to come away with the W. Enjoy it Oak Hill !!!!!

Didn't Southern play Kalida in '81?

No, Southern got beat in the semis in 1980 by Sandusky St. Mary's then beat Windham in the semi's in 1982 before losing to Middletown Fenwick in the championship game. In 1981 Ross Southeastern went to state from the Athens regional in class "A".

Fans of the Meigs Marauders send their congrats to the Oaks. Watching this game on TV the way these teams passed and got up and down the floor you could tell these teams clearly belonged in the title game. Also a great job by the Oaks coaches for designing some great plays coming out of time-outs that seemed to work everytime especially late in the game. Way to go Oaks. Bask in the moment.

CONGRATS TO OAK HILL - There was a whole lot of exciting basketball played yesterday, much of it at the High School level!! REALLY GREAT GAMES - I did A LOT of yelling and I didn't even have a special favorite team playing.

BTW - Kalida is north of Lima, west of Findlay - in the vicinity of Ottawa-Glandorf, Columbus Grove, Delphos, and Defiance - names you might remember from other tournaments. There's something in the water or soil in that neck of the woods that makes for good basketball!

I just want to say..... I miss the Oaks. I played with them last year and they in spired me in so many ways. Every last one of them love each other and has big heartn for each other and for the game. I am very proud of you guys for never giving up and returning this year to take it all. I miss you guys and I know each and every one of you have a big future ahead of you. Congrats to everyone and always follow your dreams and "Beleive"....
