Thrown out of a game?
We had this topic last year or so & I believe had like 3 or so pages of some good stories...
Figure why not start it again...
Anyone have any good stories from this season?
One small one from last night;
While officiating boys varsity game, with 2 minutes to go in a tight game with a load excited crowd.
During a time out I look over behind one teams bench & the sheriff is escorting a small crowd of persons toward the door...
Nothing from any of us officials.... In talking with the sheriff after the game I guess it was a confrontation amongst fans....
That isn't a hugely exciting one, but just one from our most recent game...

If fans would be charge with disorder conduct and appear in county court and receive a fine then fans would acted like different. I think some leagues are like that

Re: Thrown out of a game?
I was told that there was a game that got a little physical, but nothing on the court came from it... except, Good Sportsmanship!!!
BUT,
In the bleachers, there were two visiting fans that got into it with a family from our school (who sits in the same seats every game), and it got to be almost a physical altercation.... The police at the game came over and told the lady to leave, but she refused... that was until she was escorted out in handcuffs. I think it was her husband that was smart enough to listen to the off duty cop and follow his wife out.... Protecting and serving!!

Re: Thrown out of a game?
Not from this year but many years ago (story I was told) Game back then was officiated by 2 officials .The one official was being the " show " and the 2nd half had started and the fans were returning to their seats .The first row was close to the floor and a 10 or 12 year boy was returning carrying pop and popcorn . Needless to say they collided oooops! The official grabs the boy and throws him into the crowd about the 3rd row ooops! 2 big guys in row 3 ooops got up and met the official on the return trip and grabbed him under his arm pits and took him to the door .They returned and told the other official he best finish the game and he obeyed . As I said I was not there but I always thought it was a good story whether it was truth or fiction. Oooops!

Back to the original poster . If you were around talking to the authorities after the game you are the man! Most officials are running to the exit as the clock strikes double zeros . Good story and thanks for the post ,need more of this stuff . Thanks again

Re: Thrown out of a game?
Was there a brawl in one of the first tournament games at the convo? My dad says that's the reason for the bleachers pushed in. Players went into the stands. I always wanted to know if that was true
Re: Thrown out of a game?
Your father would be incorrect on that. Yes there has been a fight at the Convo during a tournament game, last one was 1991-92 between Burg and Highland. That is not the reason the bleachers do not get pulled out.Raider6309 wrote:Was there a brawl in one of the first tournament games at the convo? No, way before that one. One of the very first years of the convo a player went into the stands. Always wanted to know but only members 70 plus would have seen itPol pot wrote:Your father would be incorrect on that. The answer is still no, the bleachers have never been out for a tournament game at the Convo.

Nope, he said he sat in those seats and then a player went into the stands over the n word. He couldn't remember if it was 69 or 70. After that they never pulled them outPol pot wrote:The answer is still no, the bleachers have never been out for a tournament game at the Convo.
