This must be at "Redneck High". Do they play "Freebird" instead of the National Anthem before the game?

Are you referring to "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes? It's the one they play at college football games now with a chant that goes along.

So if a school in southern Ohio plays 50 cent does that mean its "gangster high" ?

abuck76,
Alot like a good bunch of the music played before games, it doesn't relate to the kids or students nor the game itself but it is simply a good song. And if you think about it, Fortunate Son actually stood for something, a band not backing down and speaking their mind, seems like that works.

i think that the home team should agree together on the songs..
after all it is warmup songs and the players are warming up to it
none of the parents are
none of the staff are
it is the players and they should listen to what gets them going

Some songs I've heard pre-game:

"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC

"The Hey Song"(Rock N Roll Pt. 2) by Gary Glitter

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar

"Let's Go" (The Routers) an instrumental from the '60s, still played by HS bands

"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent

Theme from the movie "2001: A Space Oddysey"

"Come On, Feel the Noyzz" by Quiet Riot

The beginnings of several Pink Floyd songs

"Wild Thing" by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. If you aint heard her version of this often-covered song, give it a listen! I heard it played pre-game game in Louisville, KY, & the fans ate it up.
