2 kid race.

Legg--21.5ppg, 4.3apg, 82%f.t., 49fg%, 3.6spg

Maxwell--20ppg, 6.1rpg, 4.2apg, 70%f.t., 47fg%, 20 3pt goals

This is going to be close. Legg has had to step up more but so did Maxwell while Haynes was out. I have to give the slight edge to Maxwell with the rebounds. He basically has the same assists per game. Both are very talented.

If ZT wins the league-Maxwell
If Piketon and ZT tie for the league-Flip a coin
If Piketon wins the league-Legg

I agree with Sports 101. The numbers are so close between Legg and Maxwell, it should go to the kid whose team wins the league.

Most Valuable? Legg, without a doubt. I think Piketon would be in more of a bind without him than Zane Trace would be without Maxwell. But the politics of the SVC will mean Maxwell wins the award.

Senior vs junior. Seems like the senior always wins in a close race.

Maxwell is more than deserving as is legg....i dont think the politics will play a role, Smith from piketon won it last year. I just think since its so close the league winner will get it.

The Chef believes this is yet to play out.

Thinking about it, a few years back Piketon had a senior player that was super deserving, but it went to another player on the team that won the league. The award winner was deserving also, a junior, yet most people felt the Piketon player was the Player of the Year.

Now with that being said, The Chef thinks it comes down to what's the meaning of Player of Year.
Best Player on league winning team or Best Player overall player or Highest Scorer or Best College Prospect or you name it.
Means something different to everyone and The Chef has never seen a definition that clearly defines it nor can someone completely describe it.

This type of dicussion has been hashed many times on different boards/forums - no clear cut answer unless award is named specifically - Defensive Player of Year, Leading Scorer, etc...

Some years its a no doubter, but this year The Chef isn't ready to cast the ballot just yet!

Maxwell carried team without Haynes. 20 ppg 6 rebs 4 asst .
Legg carried team without Southworth 21 ppg 4 steals 4 asst.
Piketon wins league Legg wins it. Tie,they split it. ZT wins league Maxwell wins it.
That's how it will go down.
