Clay should win this one by 10 or more points, but anything is possible in the cracker box. The smaller court should help Clay's big men stay on the floor longer and should play well to Clay's running game. I guess with homecoming being that night, we will have to get there at 4pm to get a seat. Hopefully it will be on the radio and we can all stay home and listen to it.

This game will get intresting. In their first meeting the Tigers shot very poor from the field. They made 3 shots the entire 1st half and they were only getting beat by around 6 or so. If the Tigers play like they can, they will take the game at home. Its also their homecoming and their gym will be jam packed! I guarantee the cracker box will be booming come Friday night. Which plays to the Tigers advantage. Also, Coach Stapleton has only lost once on homecoming since becoming the head coach at Glenwood.

Good luck to both teams!

At the Cracker box and Homecoming will make this game closer than it would be other wise. In the small gym if NB presses hard and traps, it could be hard for clay to get the ball up the floor. Clay as been on a roll lately though, so I'll take them by 6 over NB.

I'm sure coach T will practice at Rubyville if he can get time there. I don't think small gyms will affect Clay as much as other teams.

You really aren't kidding about getting there at 4..LOL...that place is gonna be off the roof. It should be a great matchup, I'll take NB over Clay.

There have been some great games between Clay and New Boston over the years that's for sure. One is in the state record book:

Most Points Scored, Game both teams (minimum 200)#23 all time-208 total points-New Boston (107) vs. Portsmouth Clay (101) (02/01/2002)
New Boston's Homecoming

1984 game is sold out at 3:00 p.m. Channel 3 news was covering highlights of the game, JV team had to stand underneath the steps to the balcony to watch the game.

You throw the record's out the window when these two teams hook up on homecoming that's for sure!

Good luck to Jack and the boys!

That's why it's probably a bad idea for NB to schedule this game on homecoming night. They are already guaranteed a sell out, so why not have their homeccoming against a team that has to travel a ways to save seats for the NB fans.

Okay, that makes more sense then. I wondered why they would have scheduled a close rival on homecoming night. Hopefully I can get a seat that isn't behind one of the big columns, oh wait, they are all behind a big column.

Ill take Clay in a close one. It's going to be hard to win at the ol New Boston gym. Clay will have to keep there temper down it is going to be loud and packed and NB is going to be ready to play since it's here Homecoming. Good Luck Panthers!

The small floor will be a factor. If the Tigers get hot from 3, they can win.

But, I'll take the Panthers by 8.

Could go either way...I'll go ahead and go with clay since they have the size advantage and can match up well with nb's guards...

If Clay comes in the game tonight as confident as they have in the past few games and plays good defense , then there is no stopping them. Every time I try to predict a score, I am off by a mile. Good Luck tonight! It should be fun.

CLAY 28 9 16 11 FINAL 65
N. B. 15 9 13 16 FINAL 53

New Boston tried to start out with a running game, but Clay was able to outrun and outscore them and go up 28 - 15. Both teams went into a slow down and they each only scored 9 points in the 2nd quarter. Clay actually lead 37-18 at one point but got a little too patient trying to slow things down and made several turnovers without getting off a shot and NB pulled to 38- 24 at halftime. NB managed to make a couple of runs and pulled with 5 or 6 but for the most part Clay led by 10 to 15 points the second half. NB hit a three at the buzzer to make the final 65 to 53. That's win # 5 in a row for Clay and matches Coach T's best season so far. Tomorrow night should be # 6 if they can stop Rock Hill's 6'9" center. From what I have seen they should just be able to out run them. Good luck Panthers, keep up the hard work. Another good night of balanced scoring. Clay has had at least 5 different players be lead scored this year and have 5 boys avg 10 ppg. Gabe Duduit and Cam Caseman both played great off the bench tonight. Would like to see them in and out more. Both play smart team ball. Tonights scoreres.....
