Jackson (6-4) @ Warren (10-3, 4-3) Tripleheader Jan 26 IS ON

Post by WHSwarrior »

Ironmen travel to Vincent for a makeup game against the Warriors

Jackson coming off big win over Logan
Warriors just beat rivals Belpre, Marietta, and Fort Frye all convincingly in a span of 7 days, with league wins at Gallia and at Portsmouth thrown in there, too.

Jackson appears to be much improved in Coach Jordan's 2nd season.

Thoughts?

(1/26 @ 11 AM: game is still on)

Jackson has enough to beat Warren...but @ Warren is tough.

Jackson could lose by 20 or win by a few.

You said it best 92...Which Jackson team shows up will determine this game. If Jackson is on, they win. If they arent, it could be ugly. Good luck to the Ironmen!

I haven't seen Jackson play but am hoping for a good game. A lot of times teams don't play well because the team they are playing takes them out of their comfort zone. Not really going out on a limb here but if Warren is "on" they win this game. Hopefully AC will be able to go at full strength.

Got to hand it to the Warriors, they have played with alot of heart lately! Great wins and added a piece to the puzzle in Hastie! Getting there in starting the best 5, 1 more pure shooter away from putting a deadly team out on the floor with some great defensive subs....Even if its a sophomore for shooting and even seen a freshman that is big enough to help with inside game for help....would make an entire different looking team... Add another shooting threat and it opens up the whole game with Venham and Fivecoait inside and then lights out from deep.....But sure we wont see an adjustment like that, it would make to much sense and to many people unhappy...so lets ride the wave and see where it goes..... This week is the true test....If Warriors win both , then Phil and I will retire from bball and Mr. Maddox should be looking forward to the NBA  Good luck. should be interesting.. The sun comes out tmrw..

Will the Ironmen pour in 14 3's like vs Logan....or go 4-26 like vs Gallipolis?

Earlier in the year I posted how the Ironmen had experienced almost no success at Logan in the past, and they promptly went to Logan and won, now they go on the road to visit Warren. Another place they have not had much success over the years. Will they get over that hump? Maybe. The Warriors without Cunningham will help, but I think the Ironmen have a chance even with Cunningham.

There is no way Wellston shouldve lost to Jackson by only 1 point...There is no way Jackson shouldve beat Athens by 26...but that is exactly how this year has gone for Jackson...Which team shows up against Warren? Hopfully not the one that shot 27% against the Rockets!

Warrior C C.....sounds as if you may get your wish with Cunningham on the mend. Hope he's not out very long. Heard he was limping start to finish in the Portsmouth game and couldn't go in the second half of the Fort Frye game. That to me means he either got hurt in practice after the Marietta game or in the Marietta game. Either way the kid is a true warrior in all sense of the word if hes out giving his all for the team while hurt, what an amazing effort against Portsmouth.....Now its time for someone to step up and fill the void. This team still has plenty of weapons to take down Jackson @ home.

Before moving on to Jackson game and AC's status, wanted to give recognition to Jeremy Hastie's performance in the Fort Frye game...4-7 on 3 ball attempts for total of 16 points, along with several steals, rebounds and solid defense....although against a weaker opponent, his performance is noteworthy and hopefully a sign of things to come in the next 2 years from this years sophomore and freshman class....now to Jackson, they have been inconsistent but appear very capable with or without AC....now if AC is out, Warren has a real challenge on their hands Tuesday and over the next few weeks....the Warriors have been playing great and Maddox will show his stripes getting the best combination of kids on the floor and motivating them to carry on in AC's absence....now we're really about to see what this Warren team is made of....The Warrior Community really has to pull together now! GO WARRIORS!!

Hastie is a very nice player if given time to shoot, he must step up now against the big boys and be able to create a shot for himself as these teams will not let him set up from long range. I really hope Hastie can perform and gain valuable experience that will help this Warrior team now and in the future.

Ironmen92

If you remember correctly, against Gallipolis two of jackson best shooters never saw the floor in the second half. Both of them appear to be in the dog house for whatever reason. I guess every coach has to have someone to be mad at.

Jackson is playing a make-up game with Marietta tonight at home, so that, along with the long trip to Warren, could play a factor in tomorrow night's game. Even without those circumstances, it would be tough to get a win at Warren. Hopefully the Ironmen bring their "A" game and can come home with a W.

Sorry folks , my wish wasnt to see the Cunningham boy get hurt, he is a vital part of the puzzle, my thoughts were to give him a weapon on both sides with the jv guards such as The Hastie boy and even the Ward boy with Venham and Fivecoait underneath, then using the Likes of Ellenwood, Knost and Lang as KEY roll players and even using The Freshmen Leff if need size and muscle...Also the kid who can jump out of the gym that they dropped down to get jv time could play a big roll if they used him right? The pieces are there but now with a big piece like Cunningham missing, should be quite interesting in how the coaches handle it. Ive seen the Warriors play without Cunningham as well and they handled it well, seemed to be a more disciplined team at that time but really need to get the kid back to have any chance down the stretch. So now it becomes a chess game for Coach Duckworth as well, Is he going to have to limit qtrs for the guards or do they try it with what they have? I guess its how bad do you want it? Now its time to be a Basketball Coach and not the Friend, do whats basketball smart and make the winning decision. Good Luck Warriors and get well soon Mr. Cunningham! :122249 The sun comes out tmrw!

Unless something changes.....Jackson is a dead fish. Living by the 3...but only one player that is playing consistently can hit them.

Jackson had 3 players score tonight...and down 11 with about 5:00 in the 4th...only 1 of them were in the game. Of the 5 players in the game one had 22 and the other 4 were scoreless for a variety of reasons.

Coach Maddox was there to witness the debacle. Beware....that was about as bad as it gets.

Good Luck warriors and hope the Jv KEEP ROLLING....nice job 2night Freshmen team, Big win over Parkersburg! Lets keep it rolling! Chas Miller a real nice game and Danny Pennell lights out shooting....Great shooting coach(ha)...So Go Warriors!
