I was very proud of the Warriors tonight! ALL of the men showed tons of heart and No Quit! Showing what playing as a team and not ME ball will do!! Many people had the Warriors beat before the game even started, but these young men prooved why you play every game! Keep your heads up Warriors You gained a ton of respect tonight!

Great high school basketball game. Very physical by both teams. Lots of intensity from each team and even the coaches. Looked like Warren was going to pull away midway through the 3rd quarter but Ironton roared back to take control early in 4th.

I hope you are not refering to the Warriors with this comment they have not played Me ball this year they play as a team every time they step on the court. Yes great effort tonight Warriors nothing to hang your about.

Just left the warrior dome. Great job fighting tigers. The folks at Warren should be very proud of their boys tonight. The warriors played their hearts out. Their coach really let them down. The warriors went out to the lead in the 3rd quarter and then the Warren coach became fixated on the tigers coach, Lafon. The rest of the game he just stared at Lafon and really was obsessed with what he was doing.
The fighting tigers won with strong defense. I am very proud of this team.

Maybe Warren's best effort this season, even in defeat. ....congrates to the Tigers. .....

Did Tommy play at all for Ironton? But I heard that Warren was short-handed as well. Anyway, nice road win for the Fighting Tigers at a tough place to play.

Good luck to Warren and keep on rolling FIGHTING TIGERS

... Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Ironton ...

Scoring ... Tim Kochendoerfer 23, Elliot 8, Taylor 7, Carter 7, Morton 6, Edens 2, Fletcher 2

3-pointers ... 3/8 ... Kochendoerfer 2, Carter 1

FT's ... 12/19

TOs ... 13

... Coach LaFon's Tigers are a solid ball club with the "rock" being Tim Kochendoerfer - the young man is a very calming influence on the youngsters that come off the Tiger bench - Fletcher/Carter & Co. ... the entire TEAM plays at the defensive end - quick hands and feet on the perimeter in Carter/Morton/Taylor/Elliot ... a few adjectives I jotted down - disciplined, deliberate, patient - to describe the Orange and Black ... with the win the Tigers remain undefeated in the SEOAL ...

...Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Warren ...

Scoring ... very balanced scoring for the Warriors - Grant Venham 13, Fivecoait 13, Lang 12, Knost 11, Ellenwood 4 ...

3-pointers ... 3/11 ... Lang 3

FTs ... 16/21

TOs ... 14 ... 7 TOs in the first quarter kept the Warriors off the scoreboard for almost 3 and half minutes ...

... Coach Maddox's Warriors played an outstanding game vs an excellent I'town ball club ... imo the turning point in the game was at the 3:40 mark of the 4th period - Warren had been down 8 (36-44) with 6:35 to play, but patience got WHS back to 1 point down with 3:40 to play 45-46 ... IHS missed 2 fts ... whs with the rebound hurriedly took the ball into the paint instead of being patient with the ball to either get a good look, or get to the rim for the foul - neither happened as Lang was called for a charge - his 5th personal, which took away Warrens only outside threat in the game ... Ironton went back the other way for 2 points and a 3 point lead that they would never relinquish ...

... enjoyed the opportunity to catch Coach Maddox's boys vs the best in the SEOAL this season ... always good to get to chat with Coach Maddox, Coach Duckworth ( congratulations on the WHS jv win over IHS jvs 50-39 ) ... Pegasus ... and a few of the Ironton faithful who recognized the Purple Hippo T-shirt lol ... best of luck to both of these teams in the final few weeks of the regular season ...

Ironton is making an impressive run through the SEOAL undefeated......even Chillicothe didn't go undefeated through the league when they won the state title in 2008......they lost to Zanesville at CHS on the Day of Champions.
