Re: Fort Frye (16-5) @ Linsly (13-7) 2/17
This will be a tough game they just took Martins Ferry to OT

They have enough size to give FF trouble inside, but I actually like FF here.
Murray is who you need to stop on the perimeter.
They are scrappy but not deep at all.

It's going be hard going to Linsly this being there last game they have more to play for. I actually think the Linsly Cadets take this one I hope I'm wrong.

Here's my question Eastern, and don't take this wrong. Is this going to be another beginning of the Fort Frye postseason downfalls. The past decade as brought a lot of great FF teams, lead by Lagraen brothers, Shon Smith, Eddy, Lang, etc. However, I can't even remember the last time they made it past the sectionals, or at most make it to the district finals. It seems like it has been the achilles heel of this program as of late. Is this a team that can make a run?

I'm not real sure I think Bellaire/Union Local game will be a coin flip though it's in Beverly so Fort has to be the favorite. Garaway in round 2 will be a tough game but its winnable. This Fort team lost a lot when they lost PG Casey Lewis. Teams best dribbler and could guard all spots. Justin Anderson is as good as it gets though going into last game he was scoring 23.5 ppg 60 % from 2 38 % From 3 and 52 % from the field. He had 25 vs Trail last game so his avg is around the same. The teams only other Sr 6-4 Jacob Prichard is key to the teams success has to stay out of foul trouble but the kids had a great season.

Do you think there is anything that explains FF's postseason performance almost since the graduation of Tyler Engle? I'm just wondered from afar from awhile. Fort sends 18 plus win teams to the sectional and never sees growth.

Shots just haven't fell recently in the tourney. It's not like they're getting kid every year they've had some heartbreakers recently. In 2015 they lost to Monroe in OT on a really controversial call at the end of regulation. To this day I say Casey Lewis drained that shot. 2016 They lost to a better in Coshocton. Ferry has had there number. Garaway has beat them twice at districts recently. 09 was probably one of the best teams they started 18-0 and got upset by Trail in tourney a team they beat by 50 in the reg season. Lost to Monroe in OT of sectional final in 11 and 15. I guess will just have to see. They played a tough schedule with Warren, Waterford, Lancaster and Columbus Bishop Ready..

Fort Frye's teams hit their stride and their ceiling early. Other teams catch up by season's end.allOhiotraveler wrote:Here's my question Eastern, and don't take this wrong. Linsly up 30-15 at half.
FF can't make anything and is getting destroyed on the boards.

48-31 end 3.
Linsly was up 22 until they put Jv kids in at the end of the quarter.
