I love it because something needs to be done! Politics should not be apart of tournament seeding or any part of high school sports for that matter! Right now politics is very prevalent in many aspects of the game from hiring and non renewing of coaches to the seeding of teams in the tournament!

I have completed the work for 1st level points. I will post following the seedings tomorrow.

I don't think 2nd level will be possible without a database of scores; therefore, I am going to end it here.

But, this system would work if OHSAA had a statewide scoreboard similar to KHSAA.

We should have that anyways...one phone call after a game, and then none of us have to score hunt anymore. yes please.

GREAT! I think something like this definitely needs looked into at the state level so that ALL tournament drawings are done the same and done without politics!

... gotta love it Tobias! maybe the committee of one - me - needs to look into using your system rather than my Ouija Board ...

...if we could just get a statewide database of scores similar to Kentucky's Scoreboard, then this would be simple...

Oh please yes, 21st century technology...no more nights of scouring news outlets looking for SHL scores...some nights it's like putting together a jigsaw puzzle in a blackout.

Then you would have to worry about Bigdowgg slipping used napkins into your note book.

I think it would be a great way to decide the seeds and give the higher seed a first round home game. Gives more money to the schools.

The southeast district needs to follow the rest of the state and let you put yourself in the bracket, pills etc. They are the only one I know of that still allows "the good ole boys" get together and vote people where they want.

You would think as much as I've been on here the past few days I would've chimed in here. I've been on here yapping about coaches banding together and everything else saying on here and the huddle that basketball needs to do it like football.....guess you beat me to it! God I hope we aren't starting to think alike.

1st off...good work

I have one small suggestion. Is there a way to account for beating a team at home, neutral site or on the road? I think that would make it even more valid and fair.

For instance: Football uses those point totals I believe because theri are 6 divisions.....so basketball should be 4 IMO

D1 Win = 4.5 pts on road, 4 pts neutral, 3.5 pts at home
D2 Win = 3.5 pts on road, 3 pts neutral, 2.5 pts at home
D3 Win = 2.5 pts on road, 2 pts neutral, 1.5 pts at home
D4 Win = 1.5 pts on road, 1 pt neutral, .5 pts at home

Or make the road win 4.5, the neutral 4.25 and the home 4.0.....the computers can handle the math....I just believe something extra should be awarded for winning on the road or versus a bigger school.

Level 1 and Level 2 points

Good Luck talking to anyone at the state....geesh.

Great idea, my only question is shouldn't you use a divisor for the number of games each team have played? Then you could get their average and set the bracket off of it. This is all assuming that they haven't all played the same number of games; if that is the case there would obviously be no need to figure an average.

That answered that question. It just means that cancellations and postponing games due to bad weather can really hurt a team’s chance of a high seed. For example PHS only has 9 wins right now, but if they wouldn't have had to postpone games I believe they would already have 10 wins. However, since everyone gets into the tourney in basketball it doesn't really matter.

Tobias: Great work.......and your figures have shown that it can be done and is basically fair to the teams.......I am 100% for it, and even though Portsmouth got a #5 seed.......better than I thought, I am still in favor of going to a computer rating system.........

Football has the Harbin system........basketball should have the TOBIAS system........
