... Cavs picked up "W" number one last season vs Xenia a 14 point 67-53 CHS win ... my Ouija Board has CHS winning this one by 7+ points ... good luck to the Elite 8's number one preseason pick Cavs & Coach Kellough in their season opener representing Southern/Southeast Ohio ...

Just back from the slippery trip over St. Rt 35 to my old stompin grounds in Xenia. Good riding back home though. Game was as slippery as the roads with turnovers a plenty. Chilly had 15 plus while Xenia probably went 20 plus. Definite 1st game for the kids.

Chilly fans have a lot to look forward to with this team. They can beat you in many different ways, but the one thing I see in this years group is "TEAM". They will gell as the season goes on, but I liked what I see in terms of getting the ball to shooters.

From an individual standpoint, Xenia has excellent D1 High School athletes. They were physical, lean and played hard. However, we have basketball players who can get it done. It started with Jalen Ragland and his 30 plus point effort. If a few more bombs drop he hits the 40 mark. Malik London also hits double digits (I am sure his first of many double/doubles). Add in Zach Johson and Issac Beverly with some very key buckets and you have a solid foursome putting the ball in the hole.

Tyler Manion and Marcus London (despite foul trouble) handled their business at the off guard spot. It was a pleasure to see the "little" London get some quality minutes in his first real varsity action.

Off the bench, Marcus Dunn and Max Corcoran contributed as well. Once we get Mylo back (2 to 3) weeks, we will have a nice rotation.

Overall good win for the kids and Coach K. will have them back at it Monday getting ready for a tough Dayton Stebbins team as we open at a the "HAT" for the first time this year.

GO CAVS!!!

From a game summary standpoint, the Cavs held the lead throughout the game. After the 1st half we were up 10 and carried that through the 3rd quarter. Xenia made a strong run in the 4th and cut it down to at least 3. However, Cavs held on with Issac Beverly hitting a clutch free throw to put us up two positions which is where it ended.

I am sure stats will be posted from someone, but it was nice to see the Cavs knock down Free Throws. I am not sure Ragland even hit the rim on any of his as he drained one after another. Malik hit two big free throws as well (after an intentional foul in which he was about to tear the rim down).

GO CAVS!!!

Bronc,

"Very bad" might be polite in regards to the turnovers:)! We will get it fixed. I do like the 12 for 15 at the line. Have not seen that kind of % in a long time. The 49% FG also stands out. Especially with no range limit Ragland going deep multiple times.

1rst game jitters for the cavs but they pull away victorious

turnovers kept it close if the cavs kept the turnovers to minimum of 10 this had blowout written all over it.

good job cavs keep it up

He is out with an injury. Broken hand I think? He will be back sometime relatively soon I think.
