Just heard Valley wins 55-50. If that is right that is a huge win for the Indians.

The score is correct. Difference was 1-4 points the entire game with the lead going back and forth. I think Valley went up 7 with maybe two minutes to play. Eastern cut it to 3 and had a shot to tie but Valley ran down the long rebound to score a lay-up with maybe two seconds to go and that was the ball game.
Very competitive game.

It was a great game...a pleasure to call on the radio (this was the only game I did today). Hope I did it justice down the stretch.

The largest lead was 7 for Lucasville Valley late in the game, then Eastern got a 3-point play, a defensive stop, and a 4-point play to immediately erase the deficit. They were down 6 with 38 seconds left and cut it to 1, but just ran out of time.

Competitive from top to bottom...pretty well played. Great matchup...they got this one right from a competition standpoint.

Here is the linescore:

LUCASVILLE VALLEY 12 9 12 22--55: Yates 22, Holcomb 9, Keller 8, Dwyer 8, West 6, Crabtree 2
EASTERN MEIGS 11 9 11 19--50: Baum 15, Pratt 15, Carnahan 8, Connery 7, Whitlock 3, Barrett 2

Valley made 4 3-pointers in the game, and was 15-22 at the FT line, including 12-15 in the second half. Free throws were crucial to staving off the comeback. Yates was 8-10 from the line down the stretch. Dwyer had a couple of nice moves and a dunk, but had trouble with getting pushed off the block. He would post up, then get bumped almost 4-5 feet away by the time he would catch the ball. He was still pretty skilled when he went to the bucket. Yates was clutch early and late in the game.

Eastern made 5 3-pointers, and was 15-22 at the FT line, going 9-9 in the second half. They were resilient. They were at a significant size disadvantage, but they play very hard and smart. Pratt was very good, but none of the other guards did much offensively. Carnahan had a nice 4-point play that tied the game in the 4th, but they never could quite get over the hump.

all but Holcomb , Linne , Reyes and Lute return for the Indians next year. they had a 6'4" player out because of his 2nd concussion this season....so Lucasville will be senior laden next season
