Want to do away with recruiting do away with AAU/OYB basketball in ohio.
Kids recruit each other more than the adults do.

Very good statement . This would be avoided if Ohio wasn't stupid and held it to 2 students from same school per team. Let teams play together year round like Indiana, Illinois, Michigan. But that's a whole other topic.

Unioto 61
Chillicothe 48

That happened in Decemeber of 2002. It's not recent, but it has happened before.

I was proud of the Piketon Redstreaks on yesterday in our shootout at Oberlin College. Streaks beat Cleveland Benedictine 50-48 in the fist game, then dropped to Vermillion 48-40, then bounced back with a 32-30 win over Paulding and finished the day with a nice gutsy performance against Oberlin High School 54-47. It was a great effort by our kids against so good competition and real good athletes. If we carry that attitude and toughness forward, we could be a very good basketball team.

Good news Coach L. Love it when the team gets to venture out of the friendly confines of The Oven to butt heads with other schools. Could be a special season for The Streaks if everyone holds to the script. Get back to The Convo and see if The Dream can come true again.
Go Streaks!

Anyone gotten wind of any transfers in or out of SVC? Nothing like some summer basketball rumors to stoke the fires a little.

and yet, they finished right at .500. Which was a great year considering they were still in the OCC.

I hope not....however if what I hear is true...Unioto will be the beneficiary of something special.

I'm good friends with Coach Hoops and lot of folks from the U...I haven't heard of any transfers or changes. It should be another exciting year!

It will be interesting this year in the Svc. I will miss coaching against the likes of coach lisath, hoops, uhrig, alley, rhinehart. We had some great battles. Wish you all luck this year. Also like to wish coach Carson the best of luck at westfall.

Coach lisath, you are the team to beat with a ton of experience and a great returning nucleus. I will be watching a few games this year as a recruiter instead of coach. There are a few nice players in the Svc that I would like to have at southern state with coach mcavene and myself.

i think it will go like this
piketon
westfall
unioto
huntington
southeastern
zane trace
paint valley
adena
Piketon has a good chance at winning a gold ball. Brabson and both farmers are gonna be to much for anyone to handle Adena paint valley and zane trace might be able to upset some teams but overall they are weak. Unioto lost a big senior class its gonna be difficult to replace murray and warner. Both huntington and southeastern lost brown and gragg they are gonna be hard to replace but southeastern as a chance to make a run. Westfall has a nice senior class this year

unioto has some talent still

Take all super kids from the area and put them on one team. Might as well, you end up against St. Someone in the state anyway and the free private schooling is a big draw no matter what the Catholic schools say.lol Yes heavy recuiting goes on all spring and summer at AAU ball.
