Re: How does the sectional rotation work ?
Number of teams in that particular division in that District. The SE is always loaded with a number of D3 teams. So to keep from having several Sectional Games, you have more teams advance to the District. (Money, Dates,Scheduling). The SE needs a different format, too many well deserving teams gets bounced early because of the Bracket they're placed in (based on geographic location). Jackson has the strongest Sectional in recent past, then Waverly, followed by Athens. Due to certain Sectionals being weak, the District games can sometimes be a joke (because a #1 seed in one sectional is not deserving of a #1, but got it based on placement and not by what they did during the season) Last year Jackson top 4 seeds were better teams than Athens or Waverly's #1 seeds. It should be one Super Sectional, using the NCAA computer formula to seed each team.

Not sure what you mean by rotation. Each coach puts their record on the board and then the teams are seeded by the coaches votes on who is #1 seed etc. I know the format has changed as to of how many teams would actually go to the District; however I believe it's been the same for the past couple of years.

I understand how they are seeded . I want to know how they choose some sectionals will have 4 teams that only have to play 1 game to get out while some have 2 teams that play 1 to advance and the other 2 play 2. And they rotate this format between districts.

That is based on what seed the team is and how many teams are in the sectional also plays into deciding if you will play one or two games to get out of the sectional

Wish they would shake it up, my Senators are going to be really improved the next 2-3 years and its unfortunate we are in Jackson. I think we could really excel at Waverly or Athens.

1st step to be more fair is to RE-SEED at the district level ... its a very simple adjustment - could be done this year if they wanted.

One super sectional is the way to go. Or at least tweak these sectionals. Send Valley to Waverly and Ironton and Peake to Athens to mix it up a bit.
Re: How does the sectional rotation work ?
They bring Manchester and White Oak to Lucasville Valley and send Beaver Eastern to Meigs an hour and a half away.
Re: How does the sectional rotation work ?
in the southwest sectional tournament some schools get to choose which site they want to go to according to seeds. in d3 they can go to western brown, turpin, or monroe. in d4 they all go to oak hills. d1 can go to fairfield, mason, or one of the lakota schools before going to uc or xavier. d2 all go to mason.
