Peebles @ Manchester 12/14

Post by airforcejm »

Thoughts?

Manchester has matched up pretty evenly with the teams they have played so far but this will be their toughest game yet. Peebles should win this one quite easily though and I expect the same results as the Indians game against Western. It could possibly be a little closer if the Hounds can handle the bench after the starters are pulled.

Manchester has lost alot of talent the last couple of years. They will play hard, just have have the horses to compete with Peebles this year. But hey, thats why they play the game, you never know.

Peebles will probably have 5 of the top 6 players in this game. If you just try to limit Justice our other guys will have a field day. Arey finished with a triple double against Western according to the Portsmouth daily times.

I'm beginning to question your knowledge of basketball. Maybe you should try coaching div 1 or nba because you know the high school game too well

I'm a Western Indian fan, and have seen both. We should have won the game vs Manchester. We had our chances, but too many self imposed to's. Worst Manchester team I have seen in a long time. Peebles on the other hand is at a whole different level than either Western or Manchester. Peebles is very well balanced, if you take (and thats a big if) away Justice, someone else will beat you. Manchester willl not be able to handle Peebles defensive pressure. They turn the ball over too much. Peebles by 30 in this one.

Manchester's biggest problem by far is moving the ball down the court. Ripley finally began to take advantage of it in the final minutes of their game and it almost gave them the lead. Coach Lockhart made it obvious before the season started that the offense would be centered around Gaffin and he's done a decent job so far. Smith has been much more aggressive this year and is averaging about the same amount of points. (12-14 PPG) Their defense has been much better than their offense but Peebles will be too much on both sides of the court. If Manchester is going to be more competitive against teams in the SHL, they will have to get more production out of Freshmen Frost/Hughes. They have done okay so far but have much more to learn at the Varsity level.

Peebles by 33. Nobody from Hounds that can shut down Justice or Aery? (Spelling). Justice jump shot is very nice, and he plays very good defense. But, Aery pg makes them go, tough kid.

Justice could sit this game out and I would still take Peebles by 20. Do you forget that Peebles has the best PG in the league in Arey? Justice is obviously a big part of their offense but Manchester just isnt very good.

.................and that my friends, is the UGLY TRUTH!!!!

41-31 at the half. Peebles may go on to win but I'm impressed with the Hounds defense. Best game I've seen play
