Carter and Fletcher set out the entire 2nd QTR
Carter with 2 Fouls in 1st QTR
Fletcher for missing a Dunk early in 1st QTR

Coach LaFon going old school sitting out for missing a dunk.

2 thoughts with this (LaFon is IMO one of the elite coaches of the entire district) but

1. Would Fletcher have been benched if he had missed a layup?
2. Will Fletcher not try to dunk during similar plays from now on?
Fletchers Dunk attempt was throwing the ball up against the Backboard and then trying to slam it and he missed.
Ouch! Lol Sorry 10,000% agreeance with Coach!

Yea I don't think he would have been in hot water if he had only just tried to dunk it. What got him in trouble was tossing it up trying to oop it to himself to dunk. He was all by himself under the hoop and had a clear easy bucket. In a very close game it could have cost us. He had a great dunk then stole the ball on the other end of the court and was all alone with sure easy 2 pts, but made a bad decision. He's just a kid and hopefully will learn. Good win Tigers!!!

... hmmmmm ... insert both Fletcher and Carter in the 2nd quarter I'm thinkin' my Ouija Board with it's pick of a 15+ point spread would have been right  another good "W" for Coach LaFon & the Tigers ... Coach is "molding" the Tigers into the TEAM that CAN make the run that everyone envisions for I'town in the post season ... he is making sure (i.e.. sitting Fletcher for the "showtime" dunk attempt) that TEAM Fighting Tigers is focused on TEAM, what TEAM needs to be doing ON THE COURT to ensure "surviving and advancing" in the post season - great coach/teacher of the game is Coach LaFon ... he has a vision of the potential for his TEAM, he is preparing TEAM with THE schedule that best prepares his TEAM for the post season, he is "force focusing" TEAM to stay in the NOW "improving - never being satisfied" ... congratulations on Saturday nights "W" over AB ...

You called it, Pink. I thought Buchtel would be a tougher matchup. Or am I just underrating the Tigers?

This is the best team in southern Ohio in any division.
If you have not had the pleasure of watching them yet then you need to add them to your agenda.

If Carter and Fletcher hadn't been benched, the score would have been a lot worse.

Very impressed with Trevor White and Josh Glover in this game. Trevor was a beast and carried the Tigers when the other two were benched. Trevor has been solid all season long and has become the do in ant force on the boards!
Also youngsters Cox, Bowling and Long logged some tough minutes and helped keep the Tigers in this one

The Tigers have had some outstanding wins, and this one adds to an already impressive resume. I picked Ironton to win the Athens regional, and nothing has changed my mind. I agree that they are the best team in SE Ohio regardless of division. I certainly would like to see my Trojans stay out of that #8 or #9 seed in the Jackson sectional, but if we have to play IHS at JHS, so be it.
