In jr high basketball on a foul shot when can u box out the shooter on the release or when the ball hits the rim.

May box out on release. Shooter and players behind three point arc must wait until it hits the rim. Some refs are calling lane violations when players cross three point arc and others are not. Like to see it be more consistant.
