Post by TribeManiac10 »

Second meeting between the teams at West Union. The Dragons will be looking for payback on homecoming night after losing at home during the holiday tournament.

JV Final Peebles 60 - West Union 47. The Peebles JV is looking really good at the moment. Will make for some great competition at the varsity level next year. Tucker Schmitz led the Indians with 16pts. Can someone confirm they are undefeated?

West Union 18 - Peebles 13 after 1. WS is playing about as hard as a team can play. Peebles needs to show some more toughness in the post as the game continues. Let's see if the dragons can keep this pace up.

West Union not wanting a repeat of Beau's 47pts. They are constantly face guarding and double teaming him.

At the half Peebles 39 - West Union 34. By far the most intense atmosphere of the season so far. West Union, including the crowd, putting everything they have into the upset bid.

Indians scalp the dragons 73-68. Zach Arrasmith played his best game of the season finishing with 18pts. Beau led all scorers with 19pts, they were well earned after being dogged all game by WU's defense. Eric Schmitz and Cody Ireton also played great games finishing with 16 and 10pts respectively. Really impressed with Cameron Gordley tonight also, he has grown a lot this season. West Union played an excellent game. They were banking on the Indian offense stagnating if Beau got shut down, unfortunately for them Peebles has the weapons to make teams pay for that decision. James Sellars led the dragons with 17pts and a good number of rebounds followed by Welch with 12pts.

Good win....sounds like a great effort from West Union and Peebles got them a battle they needed.

why is Peebles playing West Union twice? Peebles and North Adams I believe should be in the small division of the league?

Why was it not changed? Makes the small division look very easy

They played in the Holiday tournament championship which does not count as a league game. They play once again later this season. League realignment happens on a schedule, so while they may be in a lower division for the tournament they can play in the bigger division within the league.

Excellent game, won by Peebles at the free throw line as WU shot somewhat poorly as a team from the line. If WU makes a few free throws, they come away with a much deserved win as the score was within a bucket until late fouls to stop the clock. Beau was shut down for maybe the first time in his career with tenacious defense all night and got frustrated, scored 11 of his 19 from the free throw line, 6 of which were at the end of the game to stop the clock, only had 2 points at the half. Arrasmith, Schmitz, and Ireton were the difference makers for Peebles and hit several clutch shots. Not sure I agree with your assessment of Gordley, he still plays like a young player and couldn't quite hang with the pressure defense and physical plays of the bigs of WU but certainly will develop in future years. Great atmosphere and glad to see WU headed in the right direction to make a great rivalry once again. Can't wait for the next matchup between these two fine teams.

The league will change divisions next year. North Adams will be moving to the small school division, Ripley will move to the big school. The Championship game of the Holiday Classic was a non-league game. Peebles will host West Union later this season.
