Re: D3 2019-20 Basketball (Updated 1/12)
I only see Zane Trace losing one more game before the draw. that would be at Gahanna Lincoln.
I would be surprised if they lost to Unioto at home, but you never know like the first game.
Maybe at Piketon could give them trouble. The Pioneers never play well there as they hit a last second shot to win last year at Piketon.

Yeah, but doesnt top 8 get to Convo?
Sets up a good Day 1 at the Convo for DIII.
Sectionals, not so much.

The Piketons and South Points will give opponents all they can handle....West Union, Western, Meigs...depending on matchup could cause issues

True
But much better situation than D2 where teams will have to scratch & claw to get to the Roundhouse on Richland.

Why Alexander 7? (I do agree 2-7 are super tight)Seopnation wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 9:48 am My thoughts:

Re: D3 2019-20 Basketball (Updated 1/18)
I personally feel the SOCII and OVC are tougher than the TVC top to bottom this year. Also think Alexander has shown weakness when Terry isn't in the game. Could definitely go either way, just my humble opinion.

Re: D3 2019-20 Basketball (Updated 1/18)
In the spirit of showing the parity, I could also see rankings like this:
1 Zane Trace 12 2
2 Fairland 14 1
3 Alexander 11 2
4 Eastern Brown 13 1
5 Oak Hill 13-1
6 Chesapeake 12 2
7 Wheelersburg 10 2
8 Ironton 6 5
9 Adena 9 5
10 Minford 9 4
11 South Point 7 6
12 North Adams 10 5
13 Belpre 9 4
14 Portsmouth 6 9
15 West Union 6 8
16 Piketon 8 8
17 Western 8 6
18 Meigs 6 8
19 Portsmouth West 5 9
20 Westfall 6 9
21 Southeastern 3 12
22 Coal Grove 3 10
23 Rock Hill 3 11
24 Wellston 3 10
25 Nelsonville-York 2 12
26 Lynchburg-Clay 2 12
27 Northwest 1 12
This first year of the SS will be very interesting. Lots of teams with great wins on their resume but also with a couple bad losses out there. Will they go just off record? What conferences will try to align themselves based on who they don't want to play?

Re: D3 2019-20 Basketball (Updated 1/18)
If Fairland does not lose again before the voting, I don't see how they cannot be #1.
Their only loss is at a good Bishop Ready team.
Also, Oak Hill has two losses. They lost to Wooster Triway on Sunday.

Re: D3 2019-20 Basketball (Updated 1/18)
Portsmouth is now 6-10 after an ugly 71-43 loss at Chesapeake. The Trojans are in a freefall, having lost 3 games in a row, to South Point, 69-32 to Wheelersburg, and last night to the Panthers. If PHS doesn't reverse the current trend, they might find themselves seeded around 18-20. Next game is Friday at Fairland.
