If Athens is able to pull off the victory over New Lex Friday, it will be the 6th straight year the TVC has placed a team in the D2 district tournament at Ohio University.
It will also be the 8th time in the last 9 years.
Since 2007, either Athens or Vinton County has represented the league 10 times at the Convo. With a win Friday, it will be the 10th time in 14 years.
Not bad for two teams who get disrespected by posters for playing in a league that is predominately D3 schools.
