AP Polls are always funny.

New Boston isn't even the best D4 team in their district, that would be Federal Hocking.

Even more so, Richmond Heights is HANDS DOWN the best D4 team in the state. Look at their losses (St. Eds, St. Ignatius, SVSM, Warrensville Heights)... all were close losses by the way lol

They have a D1 prospect by the name of Josiah Harris... Buckeye fans remember his name, because there's a good possibility he ends up there (they have already offered him).

Regardless, I am still glad to see a local team get recognized considering this area typically doesn't get noticed.

Trimble may have issues with that statement.

Fun fact.

Maxpreps strength of schedule
New Boston -6.4 (yes, negative 6.4)
Richmond Height 13.2

Hard to say, must be a lot of pollsters from the hills. I think this is a bad thing for NB getting closer to the tournament. Everyone expected them to wax the SOC1 this year, no surprise there. Currently at 13-1 NB has played 13 games against opponents with a .500 or under record and 1 game against a team with a 7-3 record and took a 21pt L. Next game up is a 3-5 Greenup team and they’ll still have to play the powerhouse St Joe again twice (lol).

It’s going to be a major let down when they meet up with another dominant D4 team who would love nothing more than to knock off the people’s champs

I probably should have clarified my statement a little better..

Trimble has beat Fed Hock once, so as of right now they definitely deserve the crown.. once Fed Hock gets completely healthy then I think they are the best D4 team in the district.

New Boston has a very good team and is winning all of the games they should win. I am happy for their kids and program. Keep winning and prove the naysayers wrong.

But Richmond Heights not being #1 just shows how clueless the voters are. They are the REAL DEAL and could very easily win the state championship game 20+.

Not sure how much roster turnover they had (graduation, transfers) but I watched Richmond Heights last year at Pickerington Central against a really tough Ferndale (MI) and RH looked really good. Long length, insane athleticism, great pace and superb teamwork. I think they’re 15 points better than the best Africentric teams to have came through the Convo in years past at regionals.

Covid is the number one team in the district lol. I like Fed Hock too but I’m a homer! I still think FH is the best team with the most potential in the district. Quarantine is have its way with them though. Their true potential is coming if they can play some games.

Hey it is all good. All SE Ohio schools benefit from recognition and exposure. That and you are correct that Covid is the team to beat before games can be decided on the hardwood.
