Good stuff. But, I can’t see Chillicothe being that far above WCH since they both have less wins than the Blue Lions and are responsible for both of WCH’s wins.

Yes.

Alexander and Wellston have split...Wellston’s win nicely more convincing but it’s also Wellston’s only decent win.

Alexander won at Meigs by 12, won at River Valley by 19 and beat a very good Trimble team. That win is THE best win by any TVC Ohio team all season.

Not a big gap but the TVC Ohio not too strong and Wellston/Alex/RV/Meigs all pretty close

Guess it’s a good thing they caught Trimble coming off a two week quarantine.

So the win doesn’t count? Alexander kids get no credit? Trimble with a bunch of gritty and seasoned athletes and led by a 500 win coach and because of a quarantine that almost every single team has had to endure can no longer play defense? Hard to buy.

Wellston had ONE win over a team in my top 48....ONE, and had Alex lost to Trimble Wellston would have ZERO wins in the top 48. Alexander beat a top 20 team and 2 other wins over top 42 teams...on the road. Wellston has 4 more chances at pretty decent wins. I’ll give them plenty of credit if they can win some of them.

Did two weeks off hurt the Cats? Sure
But it wasnt just that. Coach Skinner has a lot of young players, he didnt really get the opportunity to teach them his system because of all the Covid crap, they didnt even play their first game until almost mid December. New coach, new system, different style of play takes time, games, experience. And, the Spartans have not had their full compliment of players but just a few times, last night being one of them. Injuries, individual Covid issues have kept the team from operating on all 5 cylinders. They had a clear size advantage over the Cats and utilized it to perfection last night, both offensively & defensively. It was a really good game plan by Skinner and he should be credited for that. They also have seemed to simplify the offense compared to when I watched them the last few times. They recognize WHO the players are now and going to them every possession. Only THREE players scored field goals in the entire game, i know that sounds bad, but adapting to what you have is an important part of coaching. Let's see what happens Tuesday versus Vinton County, that will paint a clearer picture of where Alexander stands right now.

Covid is sitting at #7 ....dang near every team has had to deal with all that goes with it and has been affected.

I agree I92, Covid has affected everyone.

But I think the "system teams" or "experienced teams" had a slight advantage going into the season - and in the early part - as it was just business as usual for them. The kids at Warren have been running the Maddox offense since they were old enough to dribble a basketball, they can do it in their sleep. Game 1 for Trimble, even after a long football playoff run, hammered Eastern by 30 points and went on to win 5 straight like they were in mid season form. The younger teams, the inexperienced teams, the teams with new coaches have been playing catch-up all season - and if they are lucky enough to play consistently week in and week out - are starting to gain ground and improve. Case in point with Alexander, yes they started late, but they haven't had to quarantine as a team all year, they have quietly played games every week since Dec. 11th.
