Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
Rt 23 between Lucasville and Waverly will be fine and the Downtown Arena lot will be nice and clear. Don't think there's anymore snow in the forecast until Saturday night.
Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
If the weather forecast proves to be somewhat accurate, Waverly's game with Adena next Tuesday could be in serious jeopardy. But that's a ways off.
Hope we can get in both games with Valley.

I agree. I think valley might get them in one of the games. But waverly will have to work for it in both games I think.
Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
Very well could happen without Futhey and the Tigers playing back to back nights against the same opponent with basically 6 players. When does the snow come in tomorrow night? Next week forecast is looking really bad.transplant wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:42 am I agree. I think valley might get them in one of the games. I don't believe this game will be broadcast on any Portsmouth radio stations. Does anyone know if it will be carried by any radio stations that could be picked up online?

Neither of these things matter. Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
It will definitely hurt Waverly not having Futhey. Valley isn't very physical so the advantage Waverly would have in the paint may be nullified.
Valley runs their stuff good when teams allow them to execute. Competed with Wheelersburg until burg started pressuring the ball more. Valley has athletes. Not sure how many are polished basketball players but they can compete with Waverly without Futhey physically, but the Waverly pressure will be too much for them.

Early could trouble could hurt either team as neither are very deep. The game at valley should be on their livestream. Not sure about any radio coverage.
Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 02/12/21
I would not be so confident. Waverly thrives on up tempo but Valley's coach Persin is a master of being able to have his team be able to force their opponents out of their comfort zone. If Valley can dictate a half court game, they have a chance even if Robertson goes for thirty. Waverly is more talented, even without Futhey, but Persin has a history of owning Coach Robertson over the years. Expect both games to be battles.

Doesn’t seem by the scores that Norm has this particular group playing that style just yet. Playing that style can be tough on teams but they best have the lead after 3 or it ain’t happening....that same style can allow teams to beat Valley as well.Omega wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 1:37 pm

I agree. I think this group looks more comparable to his teams from Chesapeake or his first few years in oak hill compared to his last few years there. Just my opinion.
