Stats obviously is the major factor in POY, but more importantly, I would look at the individual game stats and how did the player(s) perform against the better teams versus the lesser teams. Without having all of that information at hand, my vote would be for Bennett.
How could you make a vote without having the information at hand that you said you would look at to decide the POY?

I recognize my faux pas, mlittle.

I don’t have a vote, and in the grand scheme of things, my opinion doesn’t matter. I have seen Chandler play 6 times this season, Bennett and Little one time each. Each, I believe, is the best player on their respective teams. I am biased for Chandler, but I don’t think he wins. You want Isaac to win because, well, he’s your kid. Bennett has the best supporting cast, in my opinion, but I also think he is the top player in the league.

None of us get a vote unfortunately. All we can do is each give our best case for who we think it is. Most people think I’m nuts (rightfully so) but I think Little was just as or more deserving last season and didn’t get it. In the end it’s not a world ending accolade. There have PLENTY of great players come through our league who didn’t win that award. Doesn’t make either one of them a lesser player for not winning or more or less valuable to their team.

We still have 2 games left to split the league. Not counting anything yet. We haven’t played for 2 weeks and had limited practice with the weather. Anything can happen in this league

Westfall upsets Unioto. Adena up 6 at the half over PV.This is Adena's last game, so one half for the championship.

What happened last night?
I heard some folks were asked to leave?
Multiple technicals?

Two fan ejections. I know both guys that got tossed. I’m really really close with one of them. He was basically sitting right on top of me at the game, like literally right in my seat.

It was just one of those games man. We were a step slow everywhere on the court. We were lethargic all night and Westfall was just quicker and played really hard. We got dominated on the glass and lost every 50/50 ball it seemed. Had 2 weeks off and it showed. Plus had the JV refs doing the varsity game too. That usually never goes well. It was a bloodbath. Clothes lines and suplexes were frequent.

Oh and we took 1 foul shot as a team last night if that helps clear anything up as to why there were 3 technicals and 2 ejections.

Unioto only shot 1 foul shot? That sounds really dumb. Like playing a 3-7 football team and they have no penalties. I wonder how many 3’s were taken as that could be a big factor but 1 free throw just sounds crazy.

1 free throw at any level is highly suspicious. I guess it would be different if it was a clean game. But this was a Ruffin. Both ends very physical and by physical I mean lots of extended 2 hand pushing, shoving. Bodies hitting the floor a lot. Was tough even getting into the lane to get a shot off. Kids getting shoved out of bounds just for the official to call out of bounds. It was like this on both ends. But WF did shoot 22 foul shots. 6 coming from technicals.

Big difference in 3’s? 16-1 in free throws sounds bad unless Unioto shot 25 3’s and Westfall shot 4.

No idea why things ever can be allowed to get so physical on the basketball court. It’s basketball. I watch college nightly and it’s nothing of the sorts. Refs calling fouls everywhere and not very physical at all or teams are living on the line.

Hope they got out of there early enough to go enjoy themselves.

No clue. They had to cover both games.

We were a step slow the whole night and it felt like every deflection we got ended up right back to the Mustangs and they made us pay every time. We rarely get outrebounded and last night, we were outrebounded soundly.

The FT difference was large, which is why the frustration set in late, but the reality of it is that we were just outplayed by Westfall last night.
