Re: D4 East District Thread
Why did Shenandoah as a 2 seed go in malvern’s bracket this early, when they could of had another home tournament game ? Maybe they know something ?

I also am confused by the seeding here. Help me out and please explain how this bracket filled in. I am not accustomed to seeing the 1 seed without a bye with this number od teams. I also wonder why is the 2nd seed is on the same side as he one seed.

Eastern District is pick your path. They seed teams 1-16 then 1 by 1 each team places themselves on the bracket. Shenandoah must of thought mise well play Malvern in semi over waiting for district final.Fan of the youth wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 11:39 pm I also am confused by the seeding here. Thanks EasternDspy! I never knew this seeding process exsisted, I guess I thought the OHSAA had one set of guidelines for establishing brackets. Really makes things interesting.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 2:07 amEastern District is pick your path. They seed teams 1-16 then 1 by 1 each team places themselves on the bracket. The individual athletic districts (Central, East, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest) all have their unique way of doing things. Like EasternDspy said, the East is "pick your path."Fan of the youth wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:10 amThanks EasternDspy! Another thing to consider with "pick your path" is often there will be #1 seeds who want the first round game, and not the bye, because its a home game and it keeps the legs fresh. Also, because you can take a one-time "pass" in the East when the bracket is filling out -- when its your turn you can say "pass" and let the first team behind you in the seeding place themselves on, then the choice comes back to you -- you can do something like slot yourselves into the path that would have you play a second round game (at your home court) against a team you would feel uneasy playing later on in the tournament on a neutral court.
