Thank you for the pairings hhawk and good luck to all the teams. Looks like there was only one real upset last night with Sandy Valley taking out the 3 seed Harrison Central in D3 last night.

However, there was an interesting question posed last night. How many teams in D4 East District could win the D3 East District this year? I don't think many people realize the depth to the D4 east district this year. We could have 7 teams that could win districts throughout the state if they weren't in our district.

Maybe one day we will see region wide seeding like in football to push some of these matchups later on in the tournament.

I think three or possibly four could win the D3 East District tournament, Hiland has beaten Garaway twice but both we're close games, winning by 2 at home and 6 at Garaway,I don't think my Hawks really would want a third game with Garaway, it's hard to beat a team three times, let alone being a very bitter rivial, and Malvern beat Garaway the first game of the year by close to 20,and Garaway was trying to find there basketball legs after a long football run,if they played again now this would be a much different game,,I think Garaway would be beat Malvern by 15 or so River vs Garaway and Tusky Valley would be Interesting matchups also

Out side of a couple blowouts, the eastern district is what we thought it was going to be. Great basketball still left.

hhawk, I watched the game on YouTube and I was definitely noticing not the same level of a Hiland team. Detweiler came down and really carried the scoring load. MC really had a great plan early on but Hiland didn't even bat an eye, just continued on and came back.

I went to the Monroe Vs Hiland game. I really thought Monroe could’ve won that game. After the 1st few minutes of the game Monroe just couldn’t get anything going on offense. Give Hiland credit though, they executed down the stretch made enough plays.

They have not came of the gate and match the last two teams intensely , I was really impressed with Monroe Central freshman player, his last name slip my mind and the Rose-Burtun boy was good, handle the ball nice,I don't know if my Hawks thought they could ware them down with there pressure defense, they will have to wake up Friday against Malvern or go home, they won't beat Malvern like they did two weeks ago

I think is last name was Howell (sp?). He was good player. Every time Monroe needed a play he made it.

Tucker Howell is the freshman from MC. Gonna have a feeling we are going to hear that name in the East District for awhile. His shot was smooth and just seemed unflappable. His block to end regulation sure was impressive.

Congrats to Hiland. Someone has to go to Columbus from this regional and the winner of this district final seems to be walking into a regional final.

I believe we will have Hiland playing at 6:00 PM at the Convo in Athens on Tuesday and Garaway playing at 8:00 PM at the Convo in Athens on Wednesday versus Wheelersburg. Hiland's opponent will be decided tomorrow between Grandview Heights and Newark Catholic.
