Coach Fisher did in fact resign/was not renewed.

I always wait until it has been confirmed, then I either repost or comment about it ... I've heard nothing about either one, was just looking at the situations and proximity to a job that is available at Sheridan ... so to answer your question as to why I feel Sheridan will be higher ranked this coming season ... solid sophomore talent - Russell & Whiteman ... a young group of talent in last seasons varsity that played in a solid league, knows game in and game out what it will take to get to the next level within the league ( get better playing against good competition) ... excellent talent coming up from the soph/freshmen/middle school talent pools ...

I'm excited to see what Chesapeake can do next year, with a good run in 2025 next year is promising. Only losing 2 contributing seniors and having one of the best passers in the district (Kazee) they should be strong yet again. Hopefully will get to watch them multiple times again and see what Coach Ater and the Panthers can do. After Watching his sophomore year it's hard to argue Maddox won't receive some division 2 interest this summer and fall.

Agreed. But they need to beef up the non conference schedule next year.

I’m hearing that Grady Barber has transferred to Williamsburg from Eastern Brown. Not sure if it’s 100% true but he was by far going to be the best player in the league and one of the best in the district this upcoming season.

Pfloyd, will you be on the "summer circuit" at shootouts and scrimmages? Hopefully, you will be reporting on what you see. In DIII, are Jackson and Hillsboro the two new additions for 2025-26? It appears that would make 8 in the Southeast. Right now I'm looking at Marietta #1, Chillicothe #2 and Jackson #3.

... ouch! if this is true ... EB WITH Barber was an Elite 8 team in my preseason rankings ...EB W/O Barber will still be good - a good group of sophs from last season, Pinkerton with a year of varsity experience under his belt ... I believe Coach Beucler is bringing his troops to the Warren Summer get-together ... I'll know for sure on the Barber transfer "r-word" ...

... Hookshot ... to be honest, I haven't looked at the summer circuit shootouts/scrimmages yet ... this retirement thing is keeping me busier than I thought! LOL ... I have the Warren Shootout (Friday the 20th) and Caldwell Shootout (Saturday the 28th) on my summer calendar ... need to start a thread to see when and where others are taking place ... OU camp? Rio camp? Jackson has their summer league play on Wednesdays?

News: Brinager has left meigs and went to Racine Southern. Impressive 2 seasons at Meigs, I don’t think he can handle not being the “dude” on his team. Looking at schedules major falloff in the transfer to southern.

Respectfully it wasn't Brinager not being "the dude". It's not a great team situation at Meigs right now...

I know Brinager might have preferred still another school but it would have required a family move.

I’m curious what you mean by “not a great team situation.” Didn’t they just go like 22-2?

Half the team graduated and they have nothing coming up. It would've been Davis/Reed versus the world. Now it's just Davis.

Not about the wins and losses, but about the word TEAM.

Meigs had more than Davis and Brinager coming back, at least for the upcoming season.

Genuinely interested in what that means. The goal of a team is to win. The TEAM won. So if someone isn’t on a team to win, what is it about the “team” that is missing?

On the surface, it sounds like the exact opposite of a “team” problem.

I’m curious, did you actually watch a Meigs game last season? I don’t doubt Brinager for leaving that situation. Cleary no TEAM ball was being played that’s why they lost at distracts to a team who had business being within 15 points of that Meigs team respectively.
