This would surely mean they are joining the league in all sports right

The guy I talked to told me that there was going to be a vote at next SOC meeting and Portsmouth has "unanimous support" this time around.

I asked him "what's changed?" and he said mainly b/c the 3 divisions have worked great in other sports, and SOC needs Portsmouth for football to be able to go to a third division. Like I said, I called BS at the time due to past history, but looks like there's smoke to this rumor.*

I guarantee they don't have unanimous support maybe enough to get in but we shall see how the vote turns out

Let’s be honest though, this move makes too much sense not to become a reality. I know Portsmouth has burned some bridges in the past but the past is the past. They play a ton of SOC schools in every sport already. Just to name a few in basketball Burg, West, Minford, South Webster come to mind. Baseball Clay, Burg, Green, West, Minford. Football Valley, West, have played Waverly, Minford, Burg. Those are just some examples. Beautiful facilities, close in proximity, new AD, most of the coaches are new, I think it would be good for both parties.

Makes sense for Portsmouth and the SOC. Wonder if the OVC tries to add or stays at 6.

According to the Ironton Tribune, OVC will seek to add 2 more members.

Just wear your bullet proof vest it will be fine.
Teams in the SOC willbe fund raising for those BPV as part of the teams needs soon.

Good one, how easy you may forget that Waverly City Schools were alerted of a school shooting threat last August by the Pike County Sheriff’s office…hopefully everyone takes those “BPV” to Waverly as well.

Yeah, you all probably need pat downs after the incident a few years ago.

Piketon joining SOC3 probably makes the most sense of all southern Ohio schools. Was a member of SOC back in APlant construction days, but "bolted" for startup of SVC. Logistically surrounded on almost all sides by SOC schools and would slot nicely into SOC3 enrollment wise. Easy trip to/from Piketon at the crossroads of southern Ohio Routes 23-32 for all SOC3 schools. Would be some really good rivalries with Waverly, Minford, West, South Webster, Burg, Valley. Already play most of these schools in nearly all sports. Piketon has relatively new & nice facilities ("The Oven" & New Football Field/Fieldhouse & Baseball/Softball fields adding new tower press boxes) and they just keep building more...

Being a Waverly poster Piketon would be a great fit but I don’t see any reason for them to leave the SVC. As the old adage goes “if ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
