Gallia Academy at River Valley

Post by Geronimo »

12/27 matchup of two Gallia Co.teams 7:15 tipoff Livestream? can't answer but standing room only yes , Gallia alttle bang up for this one on Paper Gallia is better of the two but that's why you play the game? Reed from the RV area plays for Gallia .has the talent to control the game with there Big Men Hammons 6'6" and freshman Miller 6'5"River Valley Guard Play is strong with Bennett 15.5 pts per game New comer Soph Guard Richardson 16.5 per game along with Burns 11.7 at 6'3" should be a good one.

I think this will be closer then people think river valley only lost by 8 last year with Gallia’s big man from last year.

I miss the days when this was played at Rio. Not sure what it would take to get the game moved back to a neutral site but I’d love to see it. Saturday after Christmas, HOF night at RV. I’d expect a huge crowd. RV coming off a big W vs Vinton County & GA coming off a home loss vs South Point. Should be a good one.

Reed at RV would make this team very interesting. I’ll be pulling for the Raiders in this one.

I’m not originally from the area. Can someone tell me why so many RV kids go to Gallia? Does Gallia recruit them? Does Gallia feel weird winning with needing to take the County kids?

AAU Basketball 🏀 plays a big part at a young age and they enter the new school as openenrollment student.

I honestly didn’t even know Gallia county kids play AAU basketball. Like Nike EYBL? Surely not, right?

Reed played AAU with a lot of the gallia players Sola and such and parents persuaded him to go to gallia to keep them together I personally think he needs to go play for a coach who will work for him to get him to the next level

Full disclosure, I have 2 kids in the county schools right now who are pretty good at football, basketball and baseball. Am I a fool for just wanting to send them to school where we live (RV district) or do I need to transfer them like everyone else? What’s the benefit?

From a different area, so I can’t really say as far as quality of schools down there go, but…

Unless there’s a huge difference in the quality of school or safety, I don’t understand kids going outside of where they live. I’m even saying that as a person whose school has benefitted from kids moving in, but still I don’t really like it unless there are further reasons than just athletics.

Unless they have good friends at another school that would make them happier and more likely to finish school, I don't see any benefit.

But, there is no loyalty left in the world.
