All teams in the top 8 would be favorites against Circleville and Unioto straight up, with the possible exception of Eastern Brown. Schedules. Results, with scant exceptions. Eye test (watched them all multiple times). Just my opinion.

Hard to understand why Unioto would be ahead of Jackson despite Jackson having 1 more loss. Didn’t Jackson drill them emphatically head to head in recent weeks?

And 2 of Jackson’s 3 losses are to the #1 team.

Definitely a lot of parity amongst the Top 15 teams in SE Ohio this year. Makes for close rankings and good debate.

These rankings are just about perfect. Not sure there are 3 hotter teams than the top 3. Ironton is a wannabe - that’s accurate. Burg beat them down and it wasnt close. Additionally, they’ve lost to a very average Portsmouth team. The only disagreement I would have is a 2 loss Unioto, with 1 of them being a beat down by Jackson, ranked over Kazee and a 4 senior Chesapeake squad…who is likely going to get revenge on Ironton this Friday in a big way.

My favorite thing about pfloyd’s rankings are that people who typically comment don’t understand how rankings work.

They have never been “who would beat who” and while I don’t agree with my Shermans being in the top 3 due to that Jackson loss, I understand how rankings work. I wouldn’t have them over Jackson, Chillicothe, Marietta, and definitely not Chesapeake (who I think is the 2nd best team in the SE behind MT), but pfloyd has watched all of these teams, so I’m good with it.

Yes - I agree. PFloyd rankings always seem to be the most accurate.

He's the man. For many years he has worked his butt off watching high school basketball all over this area and beyond to verify his rankings. He's always spot on by Tourney time. Well done Pfloyd as always.

Yes, significant parity. But hard to understand how Unioto is ahead of about 6 or 7 other teams in the Southeast.

Top winning streaks:
-Marietta: 11 straight wins with 5 coming against teams with a won-loss record over .500
-Circleville: 8 straight with 3 wins over .500+ teams.
-Unioto: 8 straight with 1 win over a team with .500+ record.
-Miami Trace: 7 straight with 4 wins against .500+ teams.

Teams on the end table, Miller is 1-9, now 2-11.
I have watched a couple of their games on total media sports and both games they had a bigger kid that can flat out play. I believe he scored around 30 points in both games.
Is he close to a 1000 points for his career?
Bryce Dorsey is his name.

Understand about Peake, I was referring to the comment (which I highlighted) which spoke to the "3 hottest teams" -- meaning the top 3.

This is how Maxprep would rank our Top 10, they don’t actually get to watch and take into the visual part like pfloyd gets to….I think you’re doing an excellent job on the rankings.

Top 10 Ohio rankings

1.) Miami Trace - 29
2.) Chesapeake - 55
3.) Ironton - 62
4.) Marietta - 76
5.) Jackson - 80
6.) Circleville - 105
7.) Chillicothe - 108
8.) Eastern Brown - 129
9.) Unioto - 131
10.) Peebles - 159

Seems like forever since we were able to see a game LIVE ! I have been watching some games via livestream archives/hudl while we've been unable to get in gyms since last week :

Warren vs RCCA
Adena vs RCCA
Chillicothe vs Hillsboro
Chillicothe vs Washington CH
FF vs Waterford
Southern vs Waterford
Morgan vs Sheridan
Morgan vs John Glenn
Symmes Valley @ Western
ISJ vs Symmes Valley
Northwest vs Symmes Valley
Southeastern vs Alexander
Ripley vs Manchester
Oak Hill vs Minford

...some teams on the losing end in these that AREN'T far off from being a concern should higher ranked teams draw them in the post season early rounds ...
