peake71: I agree with your point about MaxPreps......at times that site is not reliable as far as being up to date, but I just posted the stats that it presented. I would have to think that #22 Kazee on the Peake would be the leading scorer or close to it in the OVC. I know he put up about 30 on the Trojans. At least there are some Trojans who are at least in the conversation for stat leaders.

Portsmouth made it a sweep of Rock Hill last night @Trojan Arena as they defeated a scrappy Redmen squad 66-54. PHS jumped to a 20-10 lead after 1 quarter, but the Redmen kept the lead to only 10 by the start of the 4th quarter. The Trojans then upped their lead to 51-38, yet RH once again battled back to make it 51-45. PHS then sealed the win with some steals, quick buckets, and FT's. Portsmouth is now 10-6 on the season, and need 1 more win to assure at least a .500 regular season. Portsmouth went 11-11 in the 2021 regular season. PHS is 21-3 all time in OVC play vs. Rock Hill.

Daequan Woods led the Trojans with 21 points, Logan Adkins had 15, Connie Thomas 14, Jay Lofton added 2, while 3 freshmen, Manny Thomas (7), Joe Greene (3), and Mekhi Berry (2) totaled 12 points which was the margin of victory. Seeing those freshmen make a difference in the outcome was a look at next year's Trojans, as all 3 will be starters for the 2026-27 Trojans.

The Portsmouth JV raised its record to 12-3, and have lost only 1 OVC game, that to Ironton.

Next week there may be quite a few postponements with the incoming weather, so I may not be posting for quite a while.

Peake71: You might want to talk to Coach Ater and the athletic director about not having the Panthers on the stats page of MaxPreps. Sometimes MP relies on schools reporting info to them so they can post it.
