East was down by 15 in the second half, got to within 4 and lost by 10. They are going to have to play better defense and get another scorer. Before the year is over Messer is going to have to get some playing time on the varsity to be a spark for the Tartans. I believe that should have started tonight. Time to go back to work for the Tartans and get the tide rolling the other way.

Ironton St Joe avenged an earlier 65-61 defeat to the East Tartans by winning this one 61-51. St Joe outscored East in each of the first three quarters by 15 points as they took a 45-30 lead into the 4th quarter. East made a valiant run at St Joe as they outscored the Flyers 20 to 8 to cut the lead to 3 with 2 minutes left in the game. That is when Coach Sheridan called time out to tighten the wheels that were slowing coming off the wagon. The Tartans were forced to foul and St Joe made the all important foul shots to preserve the win. St Joe was led in scoring by leading scorer Chad Harvey with 27. Caleb Blackburn had 14 and David Crossan chipped in 11 to aid the cause. East was led in scoring by T Mault with 25. St Joes next game is next Friday night against South Gallia at Ironton.

All of these figures are unofficial and I hope I got the East names right. The old napkin got kind of wrinkled as I was working on the totals out at B-Dubs after the game. Speaking of napkins, someone came up to me at the game and handed me a new napkin so I can score at least 4 more games.
