It was a good game when Portsmouth was a head 28/27 then you could see Portsmouth starting to slip--and then the third quarter just killed them.

The big block Dietz had on Cadogan just lit the place up

I wasn't counting but it seem like Logan had several blocks

man when the trojans go bad ,they go bad in a big way. should'nt be losing by such large margins. Can't give in and lose concentration when you get down 8-10. That leads to being ran out of the gymm. I think they lose focus when they get down a few. Not to suprising with the overall age/experience of the team. MD

Great win Chiefs!

Sounds like this team is really starting to find their identity. Hopefully they keep getting better each week. Looking forward to seeing the purple and white next week.

Congratulations to the Chieftains on the win. They are better than I thought they were. They were really on fire from 3 point land, and outhustled us, especially in the second half. Logan upped its record to 7-5 while Portsmouth fell to 5-7.

The Trojans showed flashes of good play........we were tied in the second quarter at 33-33, then after that we fell apart. Logan outscored Portsmouth 37-11 to take a 70-44 lead at the end of 3 quarters.

GREAT TO SEE ANTHONY WILLIAMS BACK.....AND HE PLAYED WELL IN HIS RETURN!!!

But once again, like so many games this year, inconsistent play doomed PHS. Stretches of poor play against the better teams on our schedule has proved to be too much to overcome. I do believe that Portsmouth should still be more competitive in these games......there's no reason that we should get blown out like we have in the last 3 losses.

The good news is that Portsmouth has 5 wins vs. teams with losing records, and the next 3 Trojan opponents have losing records.....H with Jackson on Tuesday, H with Marietta on Friday, and then @Gallia Academy the following Tuesday. Of course nothing is a given with these Trojans, but if Portsmouth can put together some longer periods of good play, they have an excellent chance of getting over .500 going into the Warren game.

GO TROJANS!!!

... while the puter is still working ... outstanding job by the Logan players in last nights' win over Portsmouth ... the boyz won the opening quarter 3-Point Shooting Contest 5 treys to 3 for PHS ... Chiefs got some great efforts from just about everyone in picking up the walkoff "W" ... a few imo's before the puter goes to a "blank" screen LOL ...

* the obvious top dog last night was Patrick Angle with his 32 point performance ... P Angle is THE best player for LHS when the Chiefs hit the floor no matter the night ... has all the tools ... in the games vs the BIG boyz PA has had few touches - last night mucho touches and grande points ...

* Luke Wright looks so much more comfortable with the ball in his hands as THE man who runs the show ... 3 treys off the dribble and 11 points ...

* ...for the 2nd game in a row Matt Poindexter hit the double figure mark at 10 points/1 three ball ... looks to be getting lots of confidence not only with his shot but getting in the rebounding mix in the paint as well - the Chiefs need that "other body" down low ...one that can/does use his strength to keep the "one and done" trips down court to a minimum ...

* ... Chiefs had very few "one and done" possessions ... the Purple put up 27 three balls ... connected on 11 BUT had another 4 baskets on put-backs after the miss ... even IF the goal is "chuck it up 80 times a game" you still have to have quality possessions - those "put-back buckets" will break an opponents back ...

* ... ONLY 10 TO's last night !!!! outstanding job taking care of the ball ... the starters had ONLY 6 of those TOs before the 4th quarter subs took over ...

* ... when you have a team of players like Luke Wright, Pat Angle, Mason Mays ALL of which can get to the rim ... when the trio can get inside the paint vs the big boyz they WILL draw fouls ... last night the Purple converted on 18 of 22 charity tosses ... doesn't get much better than that ...

... next up for the 7-5 Chiefs is a road trip to the Apple City to take on the "very beatable" Jackson Ironmen ... look for the Purple Boyz to push it to 8-5 with the W in Jackson ... shhhhhhhhhhhh don't look now BUT Logan is sitting at 4-3 in the league behind ZHS and Warren ... Warren is on the road next week vs Zanesville Tuesday/ Chillicothe Friday hmmmmmmmm if my Ouija board is right the Warriors will drop to 6-3 in league play after next week , Logan will improve to 5-3 in SEOAL action ... my mind was doing a little "brain time travel" ... Chiefs have the opportunity to have control of their own destiny looking at number 3 in the league finishing behind the Big Two ... that's down the road BUT with Ironton/Marietta at home, Gallia on the road - makes the last game before the Day of Champions vs Warren @ Warren a very big game ...

... Congratulations again to the Logan players ... keep improving- never be satisfied ... a reality check - so far we have only beaten one team with a winning record (FU at 7-6) ... right now the Chiefs only have Zanesville and Warren left on the schedule with winning records ...
