Great win for the Cavs and there program. Now that they are considered one of the elite teams in Ohio they can start acting like it on the court. No need for all the "show". Act like you belong where your at.

the fan, Where you at the game. I did not see the "show" you saw. I saw two teams go at it all night long. Very intense, very physical, but yet in the end respectful.

As for the tickets, if Z-Ville decides not to send us any more tickets, that is there perogative. Could things have been done different yes...However, if Z-Ville does not sell out the game, then some of those lost tickets could have been Cavs fans. The only concern is driving to Zanesville and getting shut out. We know how big this game is regardless of how much it is downplayed. Even if the admin and fans downplay it, any kid worth their weight wants to defend their home turf against a team that 1) beat them for the league championship and 2) Beat them in the Regionals.

As for your "better get there early comment", I would hope you personally are not on here looking for a ticket a few weeks from now.

GO CAVS!!!

people dont pay any attention to every inbounds play Dunbar's guards leaning on humpty with their head in his ear yapping at him. they just notice the one they have their eyes on. which is hump. you cant do the same thing every1 else is doing when you're the marquee player b/c everyone is watching. but if you're no good you can talk all you want.

Why all the negitive about Humpty and the way he conducts himself on the court. People get real Chillicothe would never be ware it is if he was not there. IHe is the best player in southeast ohio and has every reason to play with the swager that he dose. He showed up in the biggest game this year for the Cavs and done his thing. Believe me coaches at the next level look for players who have a little swager and know how to do there thing on the court.

Hitch, 1st off, you need to go back and read the post for crying out loud! I never said he "couldn't play" @ Akron. (or at least i didn't mean in that context)...I said he would not be able to be so dramatic! Man, it's getting awful touchy on here! As far as tickets, What other regular season game has tickets been sent to the opposing school for presale other than Multi games events? Maybe i'm wrong, but I usually get to the game early and purchase regular tickets? How many tickets did Chillicothe send Portsmouth? Emotions will run high this week, wow, calm down!

Jealous? You talking to somebody that hopes Chilli wins D-2...The only games I hope they lose is against Z-ville, and that's only because I graduated there! But come on, his antics are some what dramatic....That's all i'm going to say about the subject... The kid has skills as I've said before, IMO, he just needs to be a little less of a ham bone!

humpty has had the same swagger since he was 5 years old. he hasnt developed a big head, thats just the way he's always been since he was that small. so get used to it, its just who he is and who he's always been since before he even knew what it was he was doing. people forget hump grew up until 6th grade in the Cleveland Glenville/East Cleveland Shaw school districts where these things are probably a little more commonplace than SE Ohio.

I wasn't necessarily talking about the Dunbar game with my show comment. I was meaning as a whole. The "Great" players see no need to talk and put on a show, they let there game speak for them. As far as getting tickets for either match up, no problem I'll be in attendance at both venues.

From my view point I thought Humpty handled himself much better than I could have with the way Dunbar was playing him. He is the kind of special talent that all of us SE Ohio fans rarely get to see play. Good luck Chillicothe in your quest for a state title this year and good luck Humpty in what should be a great career at Akron !

Lets see great players.... NBA Top 50 I believe

Larry Bird...One of the greatest trash talkers of all time

Jordan...Talking and wagging the tongue all the time.

Isaiah Thomas....Need I say no more.

I could go one and one including current High School, College and NBA players. (Kobe, LeBron, and on and on)

Great players back it up, good players talk but don't always step up. Average players have nothing to say.

What were you???? Sounds like you are an insider or connected since you all ready have your Day of Champion tickets. If so, get off the kids. The one thing I never do is criticize and individual kid on these sites. I would love to discuss further at the DOC. I am right in the middle at midcourt and everyone knows me.

GO CAVS!!!

You are right hitchbone about the talkers of now and the past, but again those are pros and we all know what much of the pro game has now become. And I am in no way being critical of any player I too would not do that on any site. I blame the staff for allowing it to go on. I've watched Kellough coached teams for many years and until he went to Chilly I have never seen any of his teams act like I've seen his teams from the last couple of years act. Again it's just my opinion and as you know everyone usually has one of those. I wish nothing but the best for the Cavs and all it's players. As far as being an insider goes, not hardly, just a basketball fan who happens to have friends in all the right places.

Thefan, if you have followed Coach K's teams @ Trace, then even you know there were a few "Mavericks" on his teams there, even in his good years, just a little "sneakier" in the way they went about their "jawing". Regarding what you have witnessed the last couple of years @ Chilly, it is no "act" out of any of these kids. They work hard, compete, and have FUN doing it in their own way. There is simply a little more "Bravado" required when stepping on the floor against what was the OCC, and now the likes of Dunbar, N.C. Hill, Brookhaven, and the list goes on. That does not include several scrimmages in the off-season they play in. Man, you would have thought against Centerville and St. X in scrimmages before this season, that those schools were playing Chilly in their practice jerseys for the State title the way the kids went at it!! The game has changed alot since Gary first started @ ZT, and he would be the first to likely tell you, he has changed some with it. There are just some things, and some kids, that you don't try to "change" too much. Maybe if you don't like what you see, it would be easier to simply not watch... at this point, several would be in line to put their butt in your seat.

You'll are right, I guess I'm just too old school to appreciate the showmanship I see in todays game. But I still appreciate good basketball so there is no chance of my seat being available for either one of these match ups between these 2 schools this year. Although it will be interesting to see how Kellough handles the showmanship when or if the talent pool does decrease as it does everywhere. It's alot easier to overlook when a program is on the up and considered one of elite programs but then when it starts to fall watch out for the followers falling off the bandwagon.

What about Psycho T at UNC he trash talks and cheap shots more then any one I have ever saw. I remember the Ohio State game last year where he hit 1 guy between the legs and I forget what the other thing that he did was. But he hardly ever stops jawing.

Thefan, ask anyone that followed Chilly basketball the last 6+ years. They will tell you that immediately pre-Kellough, it really could not get much worse. No band, no wagon, hell, no wheels on the bandwagon. Stretch your arms back, your legs forward, and there was no way you would touch another soul in the seats... reserved section, or not. The discipline is there, but he lets his kids enjoy winning.

I have a totally objective point of view here. I was at the game and it seemed that Dunbar's point guards were in Humpty's ear all night. It almost seemed like they were trying to provoke him into something. I thought he handled himself very well and even went to the officials on a couple of different occasions to ask them to make Dunbar cut it out. I had heard allot of negative things about Hitchens in the past but none of them seemed to be true Saturday night. I have to admit I am a bit old school also but I think in Humpty's case allot of folks mistake his confidence as cockiness. He is a fine player on a fine team and I think all of the Cavs handled themselves in a classy matter Saturday. :-D

Oh my god! I might agree with Army on something!

Smales...you should be shot. Agreeing with Army is like asking for a case of jock-itch. It's sad such a great program has to have an over zealous fan like this tool.

Hitchens and the Cavs are the real deal. After watching them beat down Dunbar, I'm thinking anything short of the Final Four is under-achieving. Yeh, they're THAT good! :!:

Ty Webb,

Why don't you hang out hickville where you are from and root for your great basketball team :!:

Oh, I understand, you must not have that decent of one huh :!:

So maybe you could get some CRUEX for your problem. It might help to gargle with it. :-D

Sounds to me TY webb the pootie mouth that you are a wanna be? Maybe, if the team you support had some positive reinforcement from your trash-mouth they may be motivated to win a few more games, instead of making blanket statements on our CAV Thread. Humpty is the real deal and they have a chance to make it to the final four.

I bet you wish your team had the talent huh... dumpster mouth, I MEAN ty webb :?:

By the way chicken man..what is your team again :?:

Are you ashamed to let us know who is your team on here BOC BOC :!: :-D

You have a great day :!:
