The key will be if Ironton can handle Chessy's pressure. If Lamb plays Chessy has no one that can guard him. Ironton depth might come into play if it is a closely called game. I think the tigers win by 8-10 points.

Ironton can win this if they play as a TEAM on both ends of the court.Team play is a must on offense hopefully the 1 verses 5 offense has run its course and we won't see much more of that! When this team follows direction and plays together they are tough to beat. Good Luck Tigers.

... trojandave/ alabama mike/tigertownturkey ... make sure you guys give us a nice rundown of this one when it concludes - should be an outstanding game to watch from the cheap seats ... the best of luck to both of these excellent ball clubs and two of the best coaches Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line in Coach LaFon and Coach Davis ...

What the heck....... I cant just sit on the fence and not pick a winner, that would be too safe and easy to do. I will go with the upset and say Chesapeake by 3

If Lamb plays like that tonight against the Peake, Ironton will win this one.

I'm just glad to have him back and ready to go with Chesapeake tonight and Portsmouth Friday.

You are right, Kochendoerfer is a heck of a ball player. If I didn't know better I would think you are his agent.

My only question is whether Coach Lafon will run offense that will allow Lamb to get touches? I've been to several Ironton games this year and the only time Lamb seems to get the ball is when he rebounds it. Case in point, the Russell game. Coach Lafon allowed "certain" players to do spinning, turn-around, fadeway 17-footers but didn't encourage entry passes to the post when Lamb had a guy guarding him who came up to his armpit.

lamb isnt comfortable playin down low.
you can see that hes struggled with it.
failand had him playin the high post and he dominated,
he can step out and make any shot on the court irontons coach needs to let him do his thing

ALMOST GAME TIME
On the radio on WIRO 1230 AM
On the net: http://www.800wvhu.com/pages/hsbroadcasts.html
Click on the TIGER face in the middle of the page.

I'll be starting a separate UPDATES thread so I can edit the final score into the subject line and to leave this thread clear for commentary.
Safe travel to all, and, as always, GO IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS
The pre-game show came on air at 7:15 PM. Jason says Michael Lamb will NOT be in the line-up again tonight, still recovering from that ankle injury.

AT THE HALF - IT 30 - CP 32
FINAL SCORE - IRONTON 67 - CHESAPEAKE 59

Saw the game, and Kyle Webb of Chesapeake was absolutely on fire in the first quarter.......after that the Tigers did a good job of checking him.......and their defense on the Panthers in general was outstanding........CHS only scored 38 points the rest of the game after a 21 point first quarter. Dustin Green hit a couple of 3's to get Ironton going offensively, and IHS pounded the boards, with Lucas Morris getting several buckets on putbacks.

Both the Panthers and Fighting Tigers are good teams.......and both play hard.......but last night the best team won. Ironton has a relentless style of play......they come after you and don't let up.

Got to chat with Rhiannon and Pembrook Burrows............

I hope Lamb will be back for the Fridays game against Portsmouth, we'll need him with Portsmouths size.
