it could but doubtful.. getting there before the JV game pretty much guarantees a seat

not tonight the house was packed before the end of the jv game..

i'm definatly glad the game didn't go to ot or we very well could have lost the thing

I said at the beginning of the season that this was the worse shooting team the burg has had in years. They hussle, they defend, but they can't shoot. Part of the trouble is the inside men don't use the back board for close in shots, I'm really surprised that the coaching staff has let it go on this late in the year. I don't think even good defense can make up for the shooting percentage, when tourny time comes around.

Congrats on the big win and the tie for the SOCII. Now the Burg just has to take care of business and win their remaining conference games and hope Oak Hill stumbles along the way so they can have an outright title.

Congrats to Burg on the win tonight in front of a packed house. Keep your heads up, Oaks. You have a really talented team, and are still in a tie for the SOC 2 lead. Good Luck to both teams down the stretch.

You weren't watching the game. It was VERY physical under the Pirate basket all night. Most of those misses weren't surprising if you were watching what was happening.

Oak Hill brought an aggressive defense. Wheelersburg play more conservative after the early lead and struggled shooting--especially in the second quarter. They usually shoot around 40-45% most games. Tonight it was 33% shooting. It was off but credit the Oak defense with some of that.

In the first game, the Pirates had more rebounds and less turnovers than the Oaks. The Pirates outscored the Oaks from the field but the Oaks held a big advantage at the free throw line.

This game, the Pirates simply dominated rebounds and had six fewer turnovers (Oaks were the same as before--14). The Pirates both outscored the Oaks from the field and the free throw line this time. (Oaks had slightly more free throws up to the fourth quarter this game.)

Did anyone else notice that Matt Stegman had nine rebounds in the fourth quarter? (13 for the game). His sitting on the bench was a huge factor in the Oaks outscoring the Pirates in the second quarter (the only quarter they did so.)

One of the most fundamental of basketball skills, the foul shot, is going to get them beat down the line somewhere.
