Yep. Brett's son is a 7th grader. Looks like he'll end up about 6'6" or 6'7" and can pull up from about 20-25 feet already. Agreed with swanker that Webster will be Regional/State caliber in about 3 years (Lower and Collins' senior year when Roberts is a sophomore) with a 3 year window (Roberts' sophomore, junior, and senior years). Like others have said though, Valley will also be just as good in D4 around that time*

Are all the Valley kids that are currently freshman still there and still playing basketball. They were doing basketball things very well at a very young age.

Yes. One of the main players left between 7th and 8th, but there are two current 8th graders that are legit. They are going to be a handful.

From what I understand the 6th grade team is unstoppable. I know they won about every tournament they entered last season

So does everyone else in Soc 2 take a team picture with these State Champs this year. will South Webster walk thru the SOC, I think Waverly, Wheelersburg might have a say. state Champs in the 7 grade, wow now some predictions right there. Maybe the OHSAA can have trophy engraved now and Trophy case at Webster can make room for all the State Champs hardware. Wow.

Maybe move Webster up to div 3 if these team are unstoppable 6 7 8 grade state champs. Will this Webster team be the best Scioto County team ever.

Have you seen SouthWebster's 8th grade.
The 7th grade is decent but way behind Minford and Burg.

It’s a lot easier to project out D4 teams as opposed to D3 or bigger. I’m not saying Webster going to win State with any of those teams, but the talent will be Regional or State-caliber in D4. Valley will have the same caliber of teams in D4 those same years.

With that being said, that doesn’t guarantee either will win SOC II those years as Minford and Burg will be loaded as well. Hell, Webster went to State in 2004 and didn’t even win the league. Point being, D4 to D3 is a different world come tourney time.

This thread got sidetracked already and it probably time to get back on topic as opposed to haggling over junior high/biddy ball teams*

Voted twice for Webster to win the league this year. What’s the odds in Vegas?

I think 3 of the freshmen are seeing Varsity minutes. I know 2 of them did on Friday night, but I am not sure where the 3rd was... Didn't see him at the game, maybe sick. I think the Indians main goal this year should be tournament time. Being division 4 will give them a shot with the right matchups. The two seniors that start have a lot of experience and have played well in the past. I think Coach Horton will have to find some combination of those 2 with the younger players as the season moves on. The freshman group played a large role in football and will probably do so in basketball, just my opinion. That can make for some rough times in the present but it sets up well for the future.

Peake over valley
west over Huntington
Oaks over wellston
Eastern over East 79-31

... Jeeps go down to the Green ‘Cats.

sounds like Waverly is in turmoil. In another thread, two varsity players have quit.

No turmoil, they had a choice and made it.
Waverly beats a decent West team tonight 61-49 with 31 from Robertson, 11 from Smallwood, 10 from will Futhey (the only 3 starters available tonight) and 9 from Wade Futhey off the bench.
Michael Goodman and Eli Crabtree with their first career varsity starts in lieu of a starter out injured, a starter out of town this weekend, a 6th man injured and a 7th man out of town, not to mention a starter in last Saturdays game one of the two who decided to walk.
The kids Waverly put on the floor tonight busted their tails and couldn’t have played better - couldn’t have asked for more from them.

Waverly is trying to survive until they can get some players back, picking up wins along the way.

GREAT GREAT EFFORT TONIGHT!!!!
