I see know reason for any of Warren's home games to be nothing short of standing room only. The folks out there support their kids in good seasons or bad.

Warrior home games with extra seats are a rarity, and that's a good thing.

7 of 8? That could be rough. Where do we have Z-ville, Chilli, and Portsmouth?

Long drive.

DOC is more important, though...

Thanks, trojandave

Caught a glimpse of the basketball team conditioning this week. It looks like we will have the full contingent present as soon as football wraps-up. I didn't think to look for Seth Harris, but Hebb, Anderson, Fivecoait, Lang and Cunningham were there. Hoon, Ellenwood, Wolfe, Venham and Hilverding are still on the gridiron for at least another week. I'll bet coach Maddox is holding his breath until the football season is over. He's praying for NO INJURIES! Although last year everyone made it through football only to get injured during basketball. Last season was the worst season for injuries in recent memory.

They had shoe fitting this morning. It's getting closer . . .

Warren Warriors: '08-'09 Varsity Basketball Sched.

11/21: OHSAA State Foundation Game vs. Vinton County
12/10: BELPRE
12/16: MARIETTA
12/19: @ Zanesville
12/27: @ Meigs
12/30: @ Maysville
01/03: @ Fort Frye
01/06: @ Belpre
01/09: LOGAN
01/13: @ Marietta
01/16: @ Gallia Academy
01/20: ZANESVILLE
01/23: CHILLICOTHE

01/27: FED HOCK
01/30: @ Portsmouth
02/03: FORT FRYE
02/06: @ Jackson
02/10: @ Logan
02/13: IRONTON

02/17: MORGAN
02/21: SEOAL DOC @ North site

The home friday night schedule isn't great--we've only got 3 (Logan, Chilli, and Ironton)
And that 7 of 8 away stretch in Dec/Jan will be tough as well.
Tough road, but the Warriors will be ready to play ball this year.

Thanks, WHSwarrior for posting the schedule. Now I can inform my wife of the nights that she will have to watch HGTV by herself because as Willie Nelson said it " I'm on the road again". The only comment that I can make at this time based on what I saw this summer in the Wood Co. Rec. League is that the WARREN Warriors will be the "BEST" team in Washington Co. And just a "footnote" the Cadets will NOT win against the Warriors in Beverly or at WARREN. Enough said for now, but you'll read more from me later "count on it"!! I LOVE THIS GAME

Word on the street is Kaleb Wolfe has said he is not playing. This would be a blow to the team as he is a solid piece of the varsity rotation. He is a tough competitor that brings a lot to the team. If you know him, tell him we need him.

Seth Harris is playing and working hard. Great!!

The Warrior basketball team may have to contend with a late start if the football team wins one of the next two games. But that would be a nice problem to have.

Pegasus, nice to read your post . . . a sure sign that basketball is a upon us!

Go Blue!

Now that the Warriors have concluded a successful gridiron campaign,

Basketball is ON!

Is the varsity roster stacking up the same as this summer?
And how does Fivecoait's busted up hand factor in?

Wolfe is not playing at this time, and it is a pretty big loss. He's an effective, physical presence. Everyone else seems to be accounted for. It's a huge luxury for the football players to have a bit of a break between seasons. I think most of the football players are taking a breather this week and then will begin basketball workouts next week (although I hear they are will be in the gym shooting this week).

The Warrior's schedule is not for the faint of heart. They will be tested every game. But, they are up to the task. It would be great to see them at the Convo again this year.

Big. Bad. Blue.

Can anybody give me the lowdown on Jace Knost?

I know he transferred in from Belpre, a pretty good player, and a freshman. But that's all I've heard.

I've been told that he plays his guts out and will be solid contributor on the JV. He works hard around the basket. My "sources" think he is still a year or two away from the varsity (who knows?). Duckworth and Maddox will bring him along.

Warren never fails to be solid.

How's Fivecoait's injured hand holding up?
