There is a teacher that left there this past year and ac according to him that place is a ticking time bomb with some of their tactics and not talking sports.

Aka the reason a kid could not transfer

I hate losing kids to transferring too but if they don't want to be there let them go. If a kid and their parents feel going a different school is better for the kid it's their right to do so. Sometimes a move is necessary for a kid to reach his goals, get more exposure,or just can't get along with staff, it should be understood and allowed. Its all about the kids anyway right.

I totally agree with bbjunky81 in that SOC I should be absolutely loaded this coming season. East probably is a slight favorite to win it, although Western ended up winning the district title in 2016, beating the Tartans in the title game. Realistically there are 4-5 teams that will be in the mix for the SOC I title.

It would certainly help any of the contending SOC I teams to try and schedule up and play some very good teams in their non-conference schedule. Preferably outside the geography of the SOC, and possibly a Columbus school. I know at Portsmouth we have scheduled up for many, many years and it has paid dividends, as evidenced by our 15 state tournament appearances, most recently in 2011 and 2012.

If any of the SOC I teams have aspirations of going to the state, scheduling up can only help your program even if it means a couple of losses. As art vandelay stated, Columbus D4 is normally loaded as Africentric and Harvest Prep have been regulars at Athens, while Wellington won the regional last year.

So, he was going to East and he ends up at Valley. Does he have to sit half the season?

My point was, he was going to East but ended up at Valley, meaning his family probably didn't move into the district but I don't know that. That is my question. If they didn't move won't he have to sit?

I don't think he has to sit for football since he did not play football at Burg. Basketball he will have to sit out 10 games.

He never intended to go to East. He has permanently moved to Valley and is living full time with his aunt. He is also playing football and just took the opening kickoff Friday night in for a touchdown. Looks good out there.

That would be silly, as that should make him ineligible. Or, since practice has already started, no clue why the Wheelersburg coach would automatically allow him on the team after missing tryouts/practice. However, it is Burg's coach we're talking about, and it's common knowledge that he'll do anything and everything to win regardless of the circumstance.
