Piketon better defend the pick and roll with Jago and Swingle. Crooksville is a well coached team too. This should be a great game.

Hey Chef, do you have the bus fired up? Piketon should be a safe place on Friday night as the only people there will be the police dept and the duke & duchess staff. Piketon needs to play up tempo and should keep marching on.

I dont think Lisath will make the same mistake Minford's coaches made and let the Jago kid sit on the arc and nail threes all game. Piketon should put their best defender (no matter what the defender can do offensively) on the kid and stay on him all game to disrupt him.

Piketon is really scrappy down low with the 2 Farmer kids. They are more athletic than Crooksvilles big kid and they should be able to use their quickness and toughness to control the paint.

Lisath will make the adjustments needed to win this game. If Piketon starts strong, which they did not against Valley, they will win by 10.

Crooksville has this one Piketon just did beat Valley and that was Valleys worst performance of the year Piketon has no one to stop their big man underneath and Crooksville has to much talent and speed for Piketon to contain......

Piketon can't underestimate this Crooksville team as their record is very deceiving. They are a great ball club! You could tell the difference of competition in leagues. Crooksville plays in a league with a DI school and a couple of DII schools, which I'm sure is why their record is deceiving.

The Jago kid was spot on from 3 land against the Falcons. Jago hit about 3 of his 3's with a Falcon hand in his face! Swingle looked to be very strong and can move for his size. I think Piketon will have trouble with him underneath. The Jago/Swingle package was impressive. The Falcons had trouble with the pick and roll.

Hopefully Piketon will have better luck from the free throw line. The Falcons saw that free throws really do count. The Falcons were 5-16 from the line. Only getting beat by 6, I'd say there's your ball game.

Good Luck! Lisath is a great coach and will certainly be missed when the season ends. Coach Lisath deserves to go out with a WIN!

You've got to be kidding me.... Too much speed from Crooksville for Piketon to contain? And I'm sure you thought the same thing about Valley having too much speed for Piketon to contain. Until we went on a 14-0 run in the last 5 min. of the game with 6 or 7 steals off of the press where our SPEED jumped in and took away a lot of those passes. Get out of here with all the trash talk. These people jumping on the Crooksville bandwagon are fellow SOC people that are mad their Falcons and Indians lost. Give love to the Redstreaks as they are a great team, and their athleticism will give Crooksville problems. I agree Swingle, Jago and Channel will be tough to handle. But I think the 'Streaks just have enough athletes to contain them and ultimately win by 12+ in the end.

So proud to be a Redstreaks after what all has happened in the past couple weeks. The team and community has rallied together in these hard times, and are "flying high" right now, and I expect them to continue to do so Friday night.

Crooksville does play against schools that are all much larger than them, with the exception of West Muskingum. West is basically the same size as the Ville.

Crooksville has the big boy, Swingle. He is a HANDFUL down low. They have three nice shooters on the perimeter; Jago, Channel, German. They have the Jones boy who plays a little of everything and has a nice mid range stroke. IF.... IF ... IF... they had the Murphy boy..... LOOK OUT. The kid was or could have been their best post presence this year. He is a junior and will be back next season. He is not able to play.

Still this group of seniors; Jago, Swingle, Channel, Jones..... Have had a lot of success in the past. Jago is a player. He is going to get his. Channel is a competitor. He is a player that will do all the little things necessary to win. Swingle is a man down low. You have to be very fundamental and put a butt into him to get him on your back. And yes, they are well coached.

They play Division I Tri-Valley twice during the season. They play Sheridan, Maysville, Philo, John Glenn, Morgan, New Lex who are all Division 2 schools. Playing TV, Sheridan, Maysville, Philo and JG twice really has them ready.

This should be a heck of a game. You never know what can happen at Basketball 30!

I am telling you that was not the Valley team that Piketon played That got Valley there That was the worst game they have played all year you seen how the first quater went thats how they normally play. Crooksville straight up beat a good Minford team Dont judge Piketons win over Valley that they are going to beat Crooksville

And that was Piketon's worse game....Both Farmers playing at 70%...one with a bad ankle the other with the flu. Nobody is underestimating Crooksville...and the Streaks respect their schedule as well...although "none" of those teams on their schedule is still playing right now. Nobody cares about who beat who....it comes down to Piketon vs Crooksville! Valley & Minford game has nothing to do with this one....go ahead and jump on the Crooksville band-wagon....if you feel you must!!!!!!

I look for piketon to win this one with a lot full court pressure and half court traps, piketon needs to take it to swingle because he likes to get into foul trouble , and the williams kid needs to be on the floor because he plays the best defense and brings energy to the floor! Piketon by 8

I have watched Piketon play all season and by far they looked horrible for 27 1/2 of the 32 minutes of the Valley game. Maybe Valleys defense had something to do with this. But everyone remember these are kids and sometimes pressure that adults put on them is way too much. Piketon has gained more haters than supporters from surrounding teams. If Valley would have won, I would be there on Friday cheering them on as they are the neighboring school district. With that all being said,.. Go Streaks!!

Twas the Night before the District Finals...

Twas the night before the finals, when all through the (Oven) Big House,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The banners were hung on the wall with care,
In hopes that another District Title would soon be there.

The Redstreak Nation was nestled all snug in their beds,
While the Chef had just got back from eating at Fred's.
And with my white coat, and still in my Chef's cap,
Had just settled my appetite being a satisfied chap.

When out on the school lawn there arose such a clatter,
The Chef sprang from the kitchen to see what was the matter.
Away to the window The Chef flew like a flash,
Tore open the Oven doors with a lash.

The moon shone on this week's fallen rain,
The Chef wondered and didn't complain.
When, what to The Chef's wondering eyes should appear,
But a grinning shadowy figure, standing out in the clear.

Dressed in all dark clothes like an undertaker,
The Chef knew in a moment it must be the Ankle Breaker.
More rapid than a bullet his memories they came,
And he shouted past Streak legends, calling them by name!

Vulgamore, Miller, Smith, and versatile Doug Williams,
Brabson, Caudill, Legg, and the legend Drexel Williams.
"They're all All-Staters, I can take them all you see,
Unfortunately, every last one of them have used up their eligibility!"

And then, in a twinkling, I saw Ankle Breaker grin,
The Chef knew AB was holding something in.
He said with a wry smile, the program has turned around,
There will be more legends coming soon to this town.

AB was looking relatively fit, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all new with boots black as soot.
AB looked me in the eyes and said he'd say it only one time,
It has come in the form of an infamous AB rhyme.

His eyes-how they twinkled, just a little extra weight he carried,
He didn't have a ring on, thank goodness he hadn't married.
His mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as black as a crow.

The stump of a cigarette he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a long face and as I said a little bit of a belly,
His aroma was distinct of the bars and a little smelly!

He drew very serious then busted out with smiles,
"The Streaks have improved miles and miles."
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me the notion he meant what he said.

He spoke just a few words, saying it is the Streaks year,
And soon will come another District Title for the Redstreak Nation to cheer.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
AB held up the number one and struck a pose!

Number one pointed upward like a briar thistle,
And away he dribbled, slick as a whistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he dribbled out of sight,
"Onward Piketon, Onward Piketon, Fight, Fight, Fight, Fight, Fight!"

From the Oven...
