Gallia Academy Lost by 1 point to Afro Central Nubians (Columbus...probably a charter school...Division 3 runner-ups last year, though)

(from memory via novice radio broadcast)
The Blue started out well. The first quarter was tight.

2nd Quarter was all Nubians. They had a guy hit like 15 3-pointers (possible exaggeration). The Blue decided that staying in a 2-3 zone would help end a player’s hot streak. Full-court pressure bothered the Blue and Loveday didn’t get the rock enough because of it.

40-20 at the half.

3rd Q- The Blue came to play, again. Loveday had 8 and the Nubian (I just like to say it) lead was cut to 10.

4th Q- Blue Defense continued to shine. Loveday was catching the ball and scoring or getting the offensive rebound and scoring. He had 18 4th Q points and some clutch free throws. THE Ohio State University’s Coach Holtman was seen with a grin on his face at the Big Man’s performance. A Call 3-pointer missed the mark at the buzzer and the Devils have their 1st loss of the season. I doubt they have many in the L-column this year.

After the Afrocentric Nubians...GAHS will take on the Cauc Asian Crackers in the Waterford White National Invitational near Beverly.
This would’ve been a great write-up of a game many were interested in if you left out the stupid comments.

Two games in Fairfield County of some possible interest:

Bloom-Carroll 58, Fairfield Union 50

BC dominated the first half, 38-16 lead at halftime. FU shot a dismal 3/22 in that stretch, Evan Conley scored 12 of FU’s 16 those frames.
FU battled back in a big fashion, however, and cut the BC lead to 49-46 with less than three to go. Kuhns (BC) 28/11/5, Conley (FU) 24 points and six dishes (stats courtesy of Tom Wilson, Lancaster Eagle-Gazette.)

Fisher Cath. 47, FCA 27
After a season-opener against Miller in which FC looked laggier than all heck, the Irish had to buckle down for their crosstown foes who had came in averaging 71 two games in. FC had another mediocre first half offensively, but led 20-17 at the break. This game ended up being a runaway as FC won the third quarter 15-0 en route to the school’s first 2-0 start in eight years. Turner and Francis (FC) combine for 26, and freshman Jared Rose - who is going to be a stud - led FCA with nine.

Lynchburg Clay 63-61 Hillsboro. Pierson drops 30, Watson for Hillsboro was in the high 20s. Really competitive county rivalry game.
