As far as a freshmen transfering I do not know.
There is no trend, I know reasons but I wont say on here.
The Peake may surprises people this year, the six that show on here played a significant amount of playing time last year.
What I see with some kids is that the parents think they know more than the coach, playing time, they are the next all star, my kid is so good he doesn't have to condition as hard as everybody else does.
Ryan Davis is one heck of a coach and teaches fundamentals and he tries to get the kids ready for after basketball.
I whole heartedly agree with everything you said — Davis’s resume speaks for itself.

I do think Peake will be solid. Blankenship really impressed me last year!

They played at Marshall during the summer and just outhustled the teams they played. Blankenship has gotten stronger over the summer.
I saw him play some AAU and in one game hit a shot and was fouled, hit the free throw. There was a technical on one of the players, he hit both free throws they got the ball, he got the inbound pass and hit a three.

I will say this about the Trojans.....they will give anyone fits if they can score better, which they should. The mighty struggle to put the ball in the basket killed PHS last season.......6 games with 37 points or less (0-6 in those games). As far as quickness and athleticism, that is Portsmouth's strength. I don't think anybody in the OVC will outquick the Trojans this season.

PHS had the lead on Adena with less than a minute to go in the Waverly sectional, but lost by 3. They almost pulled off the upset because they could score better (57-54 loss). Adena ended up going to the regional. The Trojans showed then what they were capable of, and they return as many key players as any team in the OVC.

#21 for Portsmouth is Jesse Dixon, a 6-1 sophomore. Talked to Coach Collins about the Waverly scrimmage, and he told me that Dixon knocked down five 3's. Looks very much like Dixon could move into the starting lineup. PHS started 3 sophomores vs. Waverly, Drew Roe at PG, Dixon at the 2, and 6-2 Dariyonne Bryant at the 3. 6-2 junior Miles Shipp and 6-3 senior Matthew Fraulini rounded out the starting 5.

Very encouraged by what I heard from Coach Collins about the Waverly scrimmage. It was only a scrimmage, but we'll take a ounce of good report about the Trojans. Waverly in years past had dominated the Trojans in scrimmage. Thanks to UK Fanatic for the positive feedback. Waverly's Tre Robertson will have a great year; hopefully he will stay injury free.

Portsmouth will not be playing in the Buckeye Elite as previously scheduled. There apparently was a miscommunication about the matchup with Greenfield McClain, and the game will not be played. As of right now, there are no plans for PHS to play anybody else in the Elite.

Portsmouth opens up its OVC schedule at South Point. Last season, the 2 teams split, with each winning at home. The 2 games were decided by a total of 3 points.

Rock Hill is my favorite OVC gym......I really like how the gym floor is set below the entrance. The lighting is really good and the scoreboards are easy to read with the white numerals. The OVC overall has some really nice gyms. I think that Ironton's is the oldest in the conference, dating back to the mid 70's, but I really like going to the Conley Center. IHS's pep band is the loudest by far in the OVC. A lot of percussion.

Thank you for the compliment of our Gym!! The OVC overall is very fortunate to have such nice facilities!! In the last year at RH we have redone the gym floor, put in new wall mats and updated the sound system...#GoHill

I hope this is not true, but I was told that Reid Carrico will not be playing basketball this year for the Tigers. I always enjoyed watching him play, so I hope that it's not true.

The person that told me has a son that plays basketball for a competing OVC school, and said that it's only football from here on out for Carrico. Well after a couple more weeks, we will probably know for sure.

Just chatted with a very reputable source in Ironton that would know... he said Carrico is 100% playing but don’t expect him to play NEXT year as he will most likely graduate early and enroll at OSU in January 2021.

That's great to hear, sorry if I gave wrong Info. I even asked about this year. I hesitated to even post what I was told, mayby I'll know better the next time.
