I said coming in I wanted to see how Holden played against competition like this. Well, he held his own and then some. Wow! Definitely the best player on the court and dropped 35. Let me also say that if he even played a mediocre game then Burg probably loses by 40.

Congrats to the young man on a great game. He definitely proved he is a D1 player and wouldn’t shock me at all if a few more schools offer him by the end of the week.

As for the game, Burg’s biggest mistake was trying to run with Harvest. They’ve been used to out athleting people in SE Ohio and that just wasn’t going to happen vs Harvest. Lowery and Truitt were nonfactors and looked lost at times. Salyers had a pretty good game especially early on.

Good season. Garaway was so solid and disciplined I definitely think they can keep it close with Harvest... I’d still take Harvest by 8-10 but I think Garaway makes it interesting
I love how there are people who say he's not D1 caliber in football and basketball. He sure as hell is and I agree. I'll be shocked if he don't get a few more offers before the school yr ends
If he would have played that way every game this year people wouldn’t question if he was D1 or not.

Lol, I watched Holden warm up last week and you can see that he's a D1 player. If you can't see that while watching him play, I have no idea what you're watching.

Harvest Prep is well coached and insanely good, which is a pretty nice mix for HS hoops. A bunch of guys who can handle the rock, guard, and knock down 3's. Didn't see a whole lot of bad shots and almost nothing flashy. I did enjoy #2 and Salyers having an arrow shootout in the first half too.

Fun to watch but the outcome was what we thought it would be.

#2 was only a sophomore and startedfor then last year as a freshman....according to my new friend from HP lol, she was crazy. Funny enough, as outlandish as she was and crazy as she acted....I agreed with almost every single she said concerning the game. She definitely knew her basketball.

#2 is CJ Anthony, his dad was the coach of the AAU team Bo Myers (from Logan) played on last year, that kid even played up with them some I believe, kid can play.

Harvest Prep has already beaten Garaway
Once by 29 and this time around I do believe it will be much worse

Nobody disagreed but burg played with a team that was crafted together by some sort. 6 players had to sit out the first 12 games because of transfers. They are very good and will win d3.

Even at that, burg played very well. Holden showed his talent. I thought they would lose around the 12-15 mark. I still would have won my bet with you. It was close though.

So did she recruit you to coach there for next year. hahaha! It's great at these games if you talk to people you don't know. Sometimes you make lifelong friends. Gotta love "the Convo"

Holden best player on the floor tonight hands down! Prep was just too much for Burg so congrats to Burg on a very fine season and good luck to Prep the rest of the way. I so believe that Burg just lost to the state champions

Holden was outstanding...did it all!

I thought Burg did a good Burg-like job of not just showing up and they didn’t back down from the huge challenge.

I do think #2 for HP could’ve went for 30+ if needed....he was great.

Great game by Holden. HP plays 10 deep and doesn’t lose much on substitutions. Time for track spikes and cleats. Good season.

First, congrats to HP on a good win. They are a good team and should make the state finals if not win it all.
Second, the game Holden played should close the door on people saying he is not a D1 talent. Best player on the floor tonight.
Third, Burg had a great season. I think they will even better next year with the talent coming up.
Fourth, time to move onto deep tournament runs in the spring sports.
Finally, ☠️☠️☠️We Are...The Burg☠️☠️☠️

It should close the door but it won't unfortunately there are too many on here who hate burg so much they let it get in the way of giving credit where it's due. Holden was clearly the best player on the floor tonite. I thought our kids played as hard as they could and never quit. Hp is a great great team. I really can't see another team left beating them. For burg really proud of lowery and dyer our seniors they gave it all they had. I look forward to next year. Got a lot coming back and a good freshman group that could be fun to watch for the next few years

Great season Pirates. By far the best team Burg has played in a long while. Not sure how many three's HP hit but you take away 6 of those three's and it's 60-60 at the end.

Holden was the best player out there tonight. He was strong to the rim and more than held his own.

If HP hits threes like that the rest of the tourney they will be hard to stop. I don't think it is a cake walk for them to the title. Talked to one of there fans and they were concerned about Africentric, who they might possible play in the State Semi-finals, plus Lutheran East, who is the defending DIV state champ is still in the tourney and did anyone else notice their record? 12-13. That means they came into the tourney at probably 7 or 8 and 13. Must play an amazing schedule. Also Cincinnati Deer Park still out there at 25-0.

Thank You Cole Lowery and Mack Dyer for your play the last two years. You two have been class acts on and off the court and you both will be missed. Good luck in whatever the future holds for you.

On a side note, did not know that about HP having some players having to sit out because of the transfer rule. Heard someone say at the Convo tonight about coaches on the bench and having coached some of the kids in AAU ball. What is the rule on that or is there even a rule about AAU ball? Overheard them also saying no more than three kids can play on the same AAU and then the same HS team. Any truth to that or did they not know what they were talking about?

As far as AAU is concerned, I'm not sure about the rules regarding high school coaches in AAU.

I do know however that no more than 2 kids from a HS team can play on the same AAU team.

I think they changed that rule to 3 instead of 2. That's what my son was telling me.

lol they pulled the starters with a minute to play.
You were one amazing performance by an amazing player away from losing by 30+.

My guess is you had not seen HP play.
I for one have as they beat my Cavaliers by 9 at home this year. We played our best game of the year and still lost to a D3 school. MY buddy coaches these kids in AAU and who is also a Cavalier Alum. He told me that night, "Anything less than state is a huge disappointment"

Burg people complaining about another school's transfers? What's next......they had a bunch of 19 and 20 year olds too? Lol.

Good season Burg. Nice to see them competitive in round ball again. Holden is a very nice player.
