Think it is definitely possible after next year. I doubt Chillicothe will want to give up that gate for next year’s game.

Agree this game should be every year at OUC- I would bring the girls into it- even bring the Middle schools- Make it a Crosstown Holiday Classic -Chillicothe vs Unioto Middle school thru Varsity boys and girls.
Also like the idea of bring in other schools.
Why OUC does not do this on their own baffles me- great facility.

The most intense game and best atmosphere I have attended so far. Outstanding effort from both teams. The gym (as expected) was packed like a sardine can. I arrived during 1st quarter of FRESHMEN game (around 5pm) and there wasn't a seat to be had. Luckily ended up finding one next to an old friend. Doors were locked during JV game. Very scary scene with Coach K. Thank God for the man that administered CPR. He literally saved his life. Probably a good thing it happened there or else it may have been a tragedy. Continued prayers to Coach K and his family along with Coach Pat Beard and the rest of the CHS staff and players. The look of distraught on the faces of both coaches (Beard and Combs) was one that you never want to see. Hats off to Unioto players for joining the CHS players for a prayer...class act all the way around.

This game ABSOLUTELY needs to be played every single year and having it at OUC is an outstanding idea. The Unioto gym provides an excellent atmosphere, but frankly the school has outgrown that gym. Between the Chillicothe and Unioto fans combined, they probably could have sold a few hundred more tickets, perhaps even more, if the gym had a larger capacity. Not my position to tell anyone how to spend their money, but Unioto Schools should seriously consider putting together plans to build a much larger gym in the near future. Of course it would have to pass on a levy if it did get to that point.

Unioto attempted about 10 years ago to fund a new gymnasium. The plans were for about a 3000 seat facility. Unfortunately did not pass- I think the community is starting to understand that a larger gymnasium is something that has to happen in the future at Unioto.

This game was as advertised. Chillicothe may start to turn that corner after this one. They’ve got the size, skill, ball handling and defensive pressure to win a ton of games to finish up the season. Cavaliers are likely the second best team I have seen this year (behind Wheeling Central Catholic - wins against Marietta, Waverly, Steubenville). With Cayden Cox running the show - these guys could win their next 15 games.

Unioto is a good deep ball club. They are entertaining to watch. Look out for Jack Welch - he may be their best scorer early on in the season.

I agree Chillicothe is very good. Not the second-best team I've seen but they are way up there. I've seen Steubenville, Wheeling Central Catholic, Marietta, New Albany, Miami Trace and Berlin Hiland. Still, Cavaliers are competitive with all of them and could grab a victory or two against these teams. Cayden Cox is exceptional (one of my favorites in the region), but he has a very good, balanced supporting cast with no vulnerabilities. They are hard to guard and difficult to devise a defensive strategy against in my opinion. Having said all of this they have a challenging schedule so any more than 17 or 18 wins would be a significant achievement.
