VERY PROUD OF OUR TROJANS AND OUR COACHING STAFF!!
FINALLY ABOVE .500 IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON......A 6 YEAR WAIT......IT MAY NOT MEAN MUCH TO SOME, BUT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE FOLLOWED PORTSMOUTH CLOSELY THROUGH THE STRUGGLES THE LAST 5 YEARS, THIS FEELS GREAT!!
And I want to commend the Blue Devils on a GREAT EFFORT.....you hear the phrase "NEVER QUIT" a lot in sports.....but last night GAHS exemplified those words. Those kids in Blue and White battled all the way to the buzzer.....and in the process SCARED me to death.....well almost!!
This game would not have won any beauty contests, but a win is a win.....and I'll take it gladly.....it seems like it's never easy beating GAHS on their floor.
We never could quite put the Blue Devils away....and they almost made us pay for it. But we managed to hang on.....BARELY!!!
Good to talk to GAHS4ever and Jottings, and Coach Osborne and his assistant(whom I don't know his name). It is always a treat to chat with these fine gentlemen......
I know that the schedule really gets tough for Portsmouth the last 5 games.......Friday @Warren, H Tuesday with Chillicothe, Friday Feb.1 @ Zanesville, Tues. Feb.5 @Ironton, and then the Day of Champions on Sat.Feb.9 vs. either Warren or Logan.
I do think the Trojans have a realistic shot at going 10-10, and with a decent tourney showing, have a chance to finish with a winning season, something that hasn't happened in Trojanland since 2002.
GO TROJANS!!!
