Wow, I hadn't realized how the Bulldogs have had the Logan Elm number - I'm just looking at the basketball side ... history IS important ... should be a good one ! ... 93dog - which player Markins ? or Whiting has had to drop inside to guard the opposing teams big ? going to be one of the few times since the Butcher departure that Athens will have the size advantage ! ...
Yeah, raider was so skeptical of us because we were so short, now you get a team that likes to have 5 on the court from 5’8-5’11....size advantage is great but I’ll take guard play all day in the tournament. Athens isn’t big either. Miami Trace maybe the biggest team in the district faced maybe the smallest in LE.

We've done different things every time out, Floyd.

I have no idea how coach Cozart will play it.

Heck, we had Andrew Stevens flashing to the middle of the zone offensively, like a 5, the last game.

Stevens, Matters, Whiting, Trainer, Markins are all guards per say. Maybe Whiting could be considered a small forward, but he can handle the ball.
Should make for an interesting match-up.

Serious question...

Do the Athens, players and coaches take the bus from the high school to the Convo or do they just all walk there?

They take a bus.

Even with the game in their back yard, I GUARANTEE Athens has the smallest crowd of the D2 teams.

Yeah I know. Logan Elm doesn’t necessarily force a lot of turnovers on defense and offensively they are great at not turning it over. They’ll be in front of your shooters and are hard to get around. Athens can’t man them up and keep them in front. They penetrate great and can shoot. I’d have to play my luck making them shoot from deep. If they are off and aren’t forcing turnovers...Athens has the chance. Ward can really shoot, best step back shot I’ve seen this year. I don’t think Athens has any one player that can keep him in front but maybe he’s missing his pull up jumper or not comfortable with the Convo background.

I’ll be interested in the # of free throws each way

Yeah, most of Athens will be prepping for their 1/2 marathons, reading or writing parking tickets

I kept waiting for:

Warren beat the 1 seed to make it
Logan Elm beat the 2 seed to be here
Waverly beat the 4 seed to be here.

And Athens beat The 11 and 14.

Just trying to give you bulletin board material.
We just beat whoever we're matched up with so far

This board has become better because of you and Swanker Pine and others who have tried and have a little fun without degrading people.

Oh what the heck ....

Logan Elm 63
Athens 35.
How is Athens going to score 35?
Is this what it's going to be like all week from the peanut gallery who didn't make it to the Convo?

I just listed what I was familiar with. I like your Honda Dealership, your recreation park of ball fields, Donatos and the Convo but I usually park at Lake Snowden and walk to my destination in Athens.

No I’m only being ornery to raider and bulldog, none of this is at you. I like double plays. Bulldog was a catcher so not many double plays from him and raider was 2nd team baton his senior year.

I've come to accept the fact the Athens fan base is weak.
I enjoy the small, but loyal, fans we do have year after year.
It use to bother me not getting the support or interest from the area, but not so much anymore.
If I want to be around a large, energetic, passionate bunch of fans, I just drive 10 minutes east to Glouster and watch the Tomcats.

... Strike em out; throw em out, I92! lol

Our football crowd is big but silent. Spoiled of sorts. If you cheer from the reserved seats you get all kind of looks.

You guys never struck me out thrown them out on us because stupid Izzy would never let us on base and your predecessor was not possible to run on, or get out.

You guys 3-2 zone much this year? I’d give it a look in this matchup. Wellston game Athens struggled in man but were way better and won the game in zone. LE is so darn quick

I'm not lying when I say this, in all the games I watched (and it was a ton) I never once saw a player steal 2nd base on Stic. Even in St. Cloud, Minnesota at the American Legion regionals, against the best of the best, nobody swiped 2B. Lightening quick release and an absolute cannon.
