Fairland continued their mastery over Portsmouth with a 69-61 2OT win @PHS. It was the Dragons 15th consecutive win over the Trojans, and since PHS joined the OVC in 2015, FHS has a 15-2 record overall including last year's sectional tournament win.

Portsmouth had a 48-36 lead late in the 3rd quarter, but the Dragons went on a 16-4 run to tie the game at 52. PHS had a 2 point lead with 30 seconds to go, but a missed one and one set up the tying basket at the buzzer for Fairland. Portsmouth had another poor performance at the FT line, and it cost them this game just like the Chesapeake loss on Tuesday when the Trojans went 7-16 and lost by only 3. Don't have the official FT stats, but time and time again PHS had a chance to extend the lead with FT's but missed time and time again.

Portsmouth is 0-4 at home in OVC play, with losses by 6, 5, 3, and in 2OT. In OVC play, the Trojans are 2-6, overall 5-8 and now go on the road to Rock Hill on Tuesday and Friday at Gallia Academy.

I was pleased with the overall effort of our Trojans, but the execution at the FT line has killed us in a number of games. Portsmouth will have to seriously rally to prevent a 4th straight losing season.

Aiden Porter led Fairland with 27 points, while Dariyonne Bryant continued his consistent offensive production with 20 points. Having watched Bryant this year, I firmly believe that he is good enough to play college ball somewhere because he has shown a good all around offensive game. The same can be said for Aiden Porter who likewise can score in multiple ways.
