Wow. 2 great programs. Many of these kids are burnt all after 11 months a year for 10 years. That’s always been a problem and nobody gives them a couple extra months off. I hope he reconsiders.

Kids deciding to not play at the next level for whatever reason seems to be harder on the parents than the kids sometimes lol. I was a little saddened when my son decided against it. Isaac wants to be a chiropractor and playing basketball or football at the d2 d3 or NAIA level would’ve added years to his schooling so he opted not to play. And he was just done at that point. Looking back, a lot of athletes have many regrets with how their experience with sports went in high school. So good for the kids who feel they’ve accomplished what they wanted and can look back with little regret and just walk away and phase into the next chapter of their lives. Good for Trey if this is true and pray for his dad for a little bit lol.

Yeah it's true and yes his dad isn't handling it well, he was totally expecting to be watching Trey play college ball next year.

Maybe Travis was just tired of coaching and just wanted to watch his son play college ball. I was also with a Coach who had 2 sons go on to play D-1 over a 8-9 year period. The Coach continued to coach HS basketball and also follow/attend many of his sons college games. A coach can do both and still be successful at his HS job. Would be great if Travis is possibly back in this position and comes back to Waverly. Good luck to the family.

Unless you have spoken directly with Trey I don’t think you should be making comments like that. You don’t know someone’s personal feelings and reasonings of why they are doing what they are. And honestly, he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation as to why, no matter what he decides.

Good luck to Trey at Rio. Making decisions at the age of 18 is never easy. I think we should support our athletes - not question them.
