Chiefs move to 1-1 with a 52-51 win at home over Groveport in one of the ugliest games I have ever seen lol
Simon Pierce led the way with a career-best 17 points, Hunter Hill had a career-high 12, Kohen Maynard scoring 11 for his varsity high, and Cayden Alford, the team’s grizzled veteran, scoring 10 points, and grabbing seven rebounds.
Maynard hit a FT with 2 secs left to give Logan the lead. The Chiefs were down as many as 10 in the first half and battled the entire game and for as small of a lineup that Groveport had most of the game, Logan was outrebounded by a 50-30 margin per Craig Dunn's stats in the LHT. That to me is mind blowing for the size that Logan has vs the lineup the Groveport had int he game most of the time; going small and quick to pressure Logan full court the whole game. GP was 8 for 23 from the FT as well.
I was impressed with Magdich who got the start and played very well handling the ball and defensively. Pierce needs to get the ball more and we have to rebound and take advantage of the size vs smaller teams imo but all in all a good win for Logan at home.

I believe Logan is off for a week before going down to Alexander who will be solid. And sitting in my courtside seat as I have for a longtime and seeing the gruesome leg injury to the freshman during the JV game that happened 10 feet away, I want to wish him a speedy and healthy recovery. It was my understanding he broke the bone right below the knee and I dont think I have ever heard of that happening ever. Wasnt pretty to see. All the best to him.

I have finally compiled most of my LHS Boys Basketball research into a single document.

Here is the 2022-23 Logan HS Boys Basketball Media Guide & History Book:

And overall since being in the Central District Tournament, 6-27.
Logan is 28-55 vs Lancaster all time.
1-11 vs Newark
5-4 vs Teays

Logan vs Current MSL Buckeye Opponents:

Really good info! I’m not even a follower of Logan, but I enjoyed reading up on the history of both the boys and girls programs. Thanks for sharing!

Logan beat Pickerington HS (in Pickerington) in 2001-02 in a regular season game and then Pick Central in a Central District tournament game in 2004-05.

But Pickerington Central got to keep all of the old PHS records so they are one school (with a name change) for those purposes. More like how the new Athens HS in The Plains kept the AHS records after consolidating despite changing colors.

Logan heads to Lancaster Tuesday night where they are 28-55 all time vs the Gales. Lancaster coming off a 90-67 loss to Reynoldsburg are 4-3 on the young season. Chiefs will need to bounce back and play better not turning the ball over in key spots.
Current records for some future opponents:
Dublin Jerome 6-2
Canal - 1-6
Whitehall - 0-6
Fairfield U- 4-1
Central Crossing - 0-6
Bloom Carroll - 4-0
Teays Valley - 4-1
St Charles - 2-4
Logan Elm - 3-4
Watkins 2-3

Past games
Liberty 6-1
Pick North 7-0
Groveport 2-6
