In the 4th quarter, West Union's coach tried to slow the game down, but the Dragons couldn't handle the pressure the Streaks put on them. Piketon had several steals which led to layups and free throws. Perdue had 23, but the Streaks had 3 players with 8 points and 2 with 7. It was a hard earned team victory.
Piketon scorers:

Purdue sr. 23
Reader jr. 8
Thacker jr. 8
Taylor sr. 8
Blanton jr. 7
Little fr. 7

Had a few kids at 2 ea.

The dragons shot very well in the first half and came out in the 3rd qtr to stretch the lead to 15-17 points. They looked mid season form to me. Passing and cutting very well. Don't sleep on this team if you have them on the schedule. Tough one

2 Big Games in the SVC tomorrow, Piketon @ Paint Valley and Zane Trace hosting Unioto, should be a nice evening of hoops and can’t wait to see how these games play out

Has anyone seen the article this week by the Chillicothe gazette? Swingle under appreciated??? Really? Shoemaker trying to make everyone feel sorry for his boy? Complained all year last year how he got picked on by referees. Now media is calling out the Community? C’mon.

The gym will be filled twice when they play. It will be against the same school that always packs the gyms, not because "The Big Cat" is playing either. I know people were excited to get this writer back, but it has been awful writing since he returned from the second city.

Paint Valley won't even break into the top 3 this year.

I was a little surprised by the article, myself, too, I admit. I recall listening to both preseason SVC sports talk shows and felt his coverage was somewhat biased. Heck he got called out for not mentioning a team.

I said it before, Dylan was POY last year! Top contender this year but the league has other next level talent this year. Will any other players in SVC get a full write up this year?

I like quality reporting for ALL SVC schools. That makes the SVC stronger.

What A big opening weekend for the SVC!!!! Unioto vs. ZT, PV vs ZT, Piketon vs. PV!

Not surprised one iota by that Piketon score. Pressure bursts pipes...and weak backcourts.

Piketon ran circles around PV and Swingle was not much of a factor. was out played by Piketons center. He looked soft for D1 player fot sure.

Swingle doesn't look to be in very good shape. Honestly, I hope he waits till he gets to college to do it. That man about 35lbs lighter is not someone I would want to face.

shape or not he has to be more dominate he just to passive to be a big time player.

Piketon played great D and better keep that up because they wont continue to shoot the 3 ball so well all year. Easy transition buckets and feed TP the ball.

We did shoot pretty well! We have some good shooters and move the ball around very well. I'll take it!

yes TP

verdict still out on great shooters several air balls first 3 games so will hold off labeling on the outside shooting.

Pioneers came so close to beating the U tonight, if we just had a few more seconds we could’ve pulled it out. Listened to radio for a while tonight, sounds like Piketon played a heck of a game down at Paint Valley. really controlled all parts of the game is what I understand. Should be a good one tomorrow night as Zane Trace takes on the Bearcats in another big SVC matchup.

I Said good shooters... not great! And we don't count air balls. Those could easily be counted as passes!!

But I agree Ron. It would be foolish to think we will shoot that well every night.

What was piketon from the field? Sounded like on radio PV couldn't handle the D?

Well, the U took care of business as expected tonight against a good ZT team. General Hoops once again proved he has the answers AND a 56 game win streak! It is tough to win on the road, but Hoops got the edge on Kellough tonight.

Heard the PV score. Piketon is for real and I’ve been saying that. Perdue almost had a triple double I saw on another link. Swingle held to 10pts. Next Friday night is gonna be a war at Piketon! Streaks better be ready as our tanks come rolling in with General Hoops at the helm riding a 57 game streak!

Paint Valley/ZT could be in real trouble after tomorrow, one will be starting 0-2 in conference?
