... Warren started the 2025-26 season with no one on the team with varsity experience ... lost 99.9% of their scoring to graduation ... thru the opening 4 weeks the Warriors of Coach Maddox were 1-4 winning their opening game of the season at home vs Logan ... fast forward to Saturday's game at Logan vs Hillsboro ... the youngsters even in their losses have been getting varsity experience - seeing the varsity speed, varsity physicality, are FINDING the "go to" guys - the scorers , they are learning to play together defensively as a TEAM - the rotations are getting better ... offensively everyone who is on the floor has contributed in the scoring column the last 3 games with 5-10 soph Jackson Perdue stepping up as THE GUY offensively - Perdue has put up 35, 17 & Saturday 26 pts in the last 3 games ... sophomore Liam Grosselin has led off the bench as the 5-7 soph knocked down 4 threes/16 pts vs HHS & is pulling down 4-5 rbs per outing ... after 6 games - from the Cheap Seats, with the rotation of players getting more set, the flow offensively is there - movement, timing - players are looking comfortable at the offensive end - jr. Jaxon Venham is now an offensive threat getting 6-10 ppg the last 2 gms ... the post position is getting points in the paint - 6-3 Blake Grimes looks comfortable down low, with good footwork & finishing from block to block - 14 pts Saturday including a pair of putback buckets from offensive boards ... sr. Caleb Tullius may be the strongest player when he gets in the paint - has been taking the ball to the rim & finishing ... Hudson Elzey sr. 6-1, has shown leadership on the floor and the bench in picking his spots to score with some big treys and calming the youngsters down on the court ... thru 3 quarters vs Hillsboro Warren looked like the TEAM , a Warren team ... the numbers thru 3 quarters : Warren 65 Hillsboro 39 ... Warren with only 2 turnovers while forcing 18 ... 7/14 from beyond the 3 point line ... back to back quarters of 20+ points (24/25 in the 2nd & 3rd) ... 16/18 from the FT line ... BUT games are 32 minutes long ... 4 quarters ... youngsters ... youngsters tend to look at the scoreboard ... a 65-39 lead ... youngsters - 8 turnovers in the 4th period - pressure full court by Hillsboro ... youngsters gave up 3 transition buckets/26 points in 8 minutes ... the Boro got the score down to 12 points with 1:26 to play 60-72 ... 11 points with 20.3 on the clock 65-76 ... the Warren youngsters ... they're getting better ... Warren 78 Hillsboro 65 a final ...

65-39 going to the 4th wow

Hillsboro is down a bit but Warren is down a lot…but there’s not a person that knows much about southeast district basketball that thinks Warren won’t be a problem come tournament time

Players are coming into their own, wasn't able to make it to the game so I appreciate the writeup. Tough matchup awaits Tuesday with Wheeling Central paying a visit to Vincent.

... I just watched Wheeling Central vs Waverly .. the size of WCC will BE an issue for sure ... as well as the TALENT that size has LOL ...
